These super cute girls have spent their entire lives on their own until they were recently rescued. Despite their rough beginnings, Mary Ann and Ginger are incredibly sweet and are now learning to enjoy the comforts of a loving home. Both Mary Ann and Ginger get along wonderfully with other dogs, though they haven't had the chance to meet any cats yet. They need a patient adopter who will give them the time and space they need to adjust to their new surroundings and discover the joys of being cherished pets. Ginger, who bravely underwent heartworm treatment, is now healthy and heartworm negative. Both dogs are fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and on preventatives. They even tolerate baths and absolutely love being petted. Currently, Mary Ann and Ginger are being fostered in Seguin, TX, where they are receiving the care and love they deserve. I came from a shelter where I was on the euthanasia list, but I got a second chance when I was transferred here. I’m really grateful to be safe now, and I’m ready to find a home of my own. I’m a Basenji mix and, if I may say so, a very sweet girl. I’ve really come out of my shell and now greet people with lots of tail wags right away! I get along well with other dogs and have done great with everyone I’ve met. I’m a spunky, playful girl who loves attention and interaction. I can get a little bouncy when I’m excited—I may jump and do some playful “love nips,” which is just my way of having fun and showing affection. Because of this, I’d do best with older, considerate kids who understand dog behavior and can help me keep learning good manners. I still have a gentle side and would do well in many different homes. I just need someone kind who will continue to guide me and give me the love I’ve been waiting for. I’m spayed, up to date on all my vaccines, 4dx test negative, protected with ProHeart 12 and Bravecto, and microchipped—so I’m all ready to head home whenever you are. My adoption fee is $400. One or two canines are slightly chipped, but since the nerves are not damaged, no immediate treatment is required. 2⃣ Rescue Story * White was rescued from the Juksan dog meat farm. He endured the trauma of witnessing his friends being slaughtered before his eyes until Adogs successfully shut down the farm and brought him to safety. 3⃣ Personality & Traits * Interaction with People: Is a bit shy and tends to cautiously avoid strangers. However, he can be won over with treats! While he stays close to those he knows, he still gets a bit "flighty" when someone reaches out to touch him. If gently cornered, he accepts touch well, and familiar faces can pet him anywhere without issue. Though not yet overtly affectionate, he is slowly opening his heart. We believe he will bond quickly once he settles into a consistent home environment. * Interaction with Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs.
