Roscoe is so adorable with his short little legs. He is a sweet and friendly boy who will give you kisses. Roscoe is wonderful with people and good with other dogs. He also likes to play and run around in the yard. We do not know his feelings about cats. While in another shelter, as Roscoe was being walked, he was suddenly attacked by another dog for no reason anyone could see. Roscoe, not having a mean bone in him, did not even try to fight back. He was then brought to the vet where his wounds were cleaned and he was placed on antibiotic. Roscoe's physical wounds are healing and he would love to go home where he could just get lots of love, toys, treats and a nice soft bed to rest on. His "wounds" are of the more emotional type now - he is more cautious and until he gets to know you, does not like anyone in his space for too long (like long hugs/kisses or rushing at him) so a home without young kids who do not understand this is preferred. Roscoe is about 50-55 pounds and 3 years old. Please help Roscoe find the loving home he deserves. Update: Roscoe tested positive for Ehrlicchia, another tick borne disease similar to Lyme's. He has completed his course of oral antibiotic and is feeling great. Roscoe is currently available for adoption! We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes. Hi, everyone. My name is stella mccartney and I am a dairy special Bassett Hound mix puppy that was born the middle of October to a pure bred Bassett Hound mom. Me and my siblings were born in the woods where the man who owned my mom was living in a tent and down on his luck. He contacted a foster of Critter Cavalry Rescue, and she came to pick us up a few weeks ago and help us get our shots and worming and our spays and neuters done. I am living in a terrific foster home that is allowing me to run and play in the yard and in the house, and to also be mentored by their adult dogs who are showing me the ropes. My foster mom laughs at me because she says I am fearless. It seems that one of the adult dogs really doesn't like me and my sister very much because of our puppy energy, but I still persevere trying to get him to like me. My foster mom says I don't take no for an answer. I am a happy girl and very excited about meeting a new family soon. We are going to have so much fun running in the backyard and letting me.Sniff and play and explore and cuddle. I can do all of those things really well and I promise to make some family's life extremely happy. Please read up on the bassett, hound traits, and be sure that you can give me the best life ever.
