Maggie Moo: Small Body, Big Personality, Endless Wiggles Looking for a low-to-the-ground, high-on-love kind of gal? Meet Maggie, also known as Mags, Maggie Moo, or Wiggles—because that tail never stops! She’s a 10-year-old Basset Hound/Jack Russell mix with short legs, a big heart, and an Olympic-level snuggle game. Don’t let her age fool you—this 30-pound sweetheart still zips around the yard like she’s part greyhound. She’s spunky, silly, and full of surprises, especially when she catches a case of the zoomies. Maggie’s specialty? Being extremely attached to her person. If you’ve got a lap (or even just a couch), she’s got a spot picked out. She’s a champion cuddler, a loyal sidekick, and basically your new little shadow. Once she bonds with you, you’re her person for life. She needs a child-free home where she can feel safe, secure, and doted on like the queen she is. But don’t worry—when Maggie loves you, she LOVES you. Expect heart-melting looks, constant companionship, and lots of wiggly affection.  As a bonus: she gets along great with other dogs and even cats. So if you’ve already got a fur family, Maggie just might fit right in. Maggie is the perfect blend of sassy and sweet, loyal and hilarious. If you’re ready for a lovable, nap-loving, people-adoring pup to share your days (and your furniture), Maggie’s ready to meet you. Interested? Let’s set up a meet-and-snuggle. Maggie’s waiting!  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 18, 2025, 10:48 am

Story
Friendly  Meet Cool Snoop Dogg, the most easygoing one-year-old Bassett/Beagle mix you could ever hope to meet. He’s currently around 30 pounds and will likely fill out in the 35–38 pound range once he reaches a healthy weight. One glance at his soft, soulful eyes is enough to understand just how deeply this sweet boy connects with his people. Everything about him—from his long Bassett body to his gorgeous droopy ears to that one charming knobby knee—makes him an irresistibly endearing companion. Snoop Dogg has the temperament of a dog twice his age. Instead of the constant curiosity you might expect from a Beagle, he carries himself with a calm, unhurried Bassett spirit. He enjoys exploring a little, but he’s not the type to keep his nose to the ground nonstop. He’s also not a big barker, only joining in when the other dogs decide there’s something worth discussing. On a leash he already does very well, and with just a little practice he’ll be close to perfect. What makes him truly special is his gentle, affectionate nature. If you sit on the ground, he immediately settles in close, wrapping you in a soft, sweet hug and offering the most tender kisses. For such a young dog, his kindness is remarkable. His foster family says he radiates peace, love, and pure goodness in everything he does. Snoop Dogg is wonderfully well-mannered, housebroken, and crate trained. He learned the doggy door in a single day and rides calmly in the car without stress or hesitation. Whether he’s with children, other dogs, cats, a busy family, an empty nest couple, or a single person, he adapts seamlessly. This boy truly fits anywhere, bringing joy, simplicity, and easy companionship into every space he enters. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle soul who just wants to love and be loved, Cool Snoop Dogg might be your perfect match. Story
Hi!  My name is Mindy and I am looking for a forever home.  Me and my friend Missy were picked up by Animal Control and taken to a super scary place called a shelter where, after our hold times were up and no one came looking for either one of us, we were put on something bad called 'the list".  Fortunately for us, a worker at the shelter saw what good girls we were and contacted a small local rescue to see if they could take us in, then a volunteer with that rescue contacted BCAA to see if they could help us and they said yes!  We both appear to be bassett hounds, both of us are about a year old, and I am the smaller one at just under 25lbs.  I was just a little shy when I first came into foster but everyone is so nice to me and I get really good treats and lots of loving which is one of my most favorite things.  I have gotten along with the other dogs I have met and like to play; so far I haven't paid much attention at all to the cats I've met.  I go right into my crate when asked and I have done really well in one without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any bedding.  I enjoy my food and treats which I take gently.  I'm good on leash and love going for walks and exploring.  Due to my breed mix (us hounds love to follow our noses and tend to wander), if I'm not in a fenced area I will need to be on leash.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Hello, my name is: ChocolateApprox. DOB: 11/18/2022Sex/Breed: Spayed female Basset/Pittie mixWeight: 39 lbsRescued from: Found strayChocolate is a sweet, easy-going basset/pittie mix who’s ready to melt into her forever family! Found as a stray, she wasted no time proving what a loving, loyal companion she can be. She bonded instantly with her foster’s 6-year-old and now adores the whole household—she’s just a little slow to warm up to men. Chocolate is great with kids, dogs, and even cats. She’s house-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and rides calmly in the car. With a medium energy level, she’s happy to play, explore, and then curl up for snuggles. A yard would be a wonderful bonus for her as she loves to be outside. This girl slipped seamlessly into her foster’s life, and will surely do the same in her forever home. If you’re looking for a gentle, happy pup who’s ready to love you from day one, Chocolate is your girl! All our pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? Story
Hi! I’m Lucy and I’m the sweetest Beagle girl ever! I’m 8 years old, about 26 lbs, spayed, housetrained, up to date on vaccines, and chipped. I love people, absolutely adore kids, and I get along great with other dogs. > I’m way too excited about cats so they wouldn’t be the best fit for me. My family didn’t have time for me because they were having another baby, but my foster parents can’t imagine how anyone could have given me up. I’m a really good dog. I don’t make any messes and I’m always happy and my tail rarely stops wagging.  I’m easy going. I love my walks and get pretty excited on them! I also enjoy sniffing around in the backyard, so would prefer a fenced yard. I even love my foster dog brother who always wants to play! > I’m looking ahead toward a bright future with a forever family and would be super-excited to meet you.   Thank you very much for considering me and adopting. Story
Sasha  is a sweet, affectionate 7-month-old beagle mix looking for her forever family. Hailing from Kentucky and found as a stray, she is surprisingly well adjusted and social with both humans and dogs. She has the most STUNNING eyes, and absolutely loves posing for a camera because it means she will get the thing she loves most – attention!  Sasha  is a naturally playful puppy, with lots of energy to spare. She does best when provided with lots of activity, both of human and canine variety. We actively engage her in walking and hiking, and also give her space to romp in the backyard with our pack.  Sasha  needs to be home with other dogs who are of a similar temperament to help express that puppy energy! She is making a lot of progress with listening and responding to commands, and is almost fully potty trained.  Sasha  would love a home with a family who will continue her training work, provide her with a stimulating environment, and appreciate her unique quirks!   (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.)
