Caddie is the happiest little puppy with the sweetest personality, but you’d never guess the dark secret she was hiding when she arrived to us skin and bones.  When she first reached her foster home, this poor girl regurgitated every single meal. At first it looked like a simple stomach bug… but further testing revealed the real issue: megaesophagus - a dilated, inflamed esophagus that makes food come right back up. Scary? It sounds it. But here’s the truth: for Caddie, thankfully it’s totally manageable. No surgery. No complicated meds. Just a simple updated feeding routine, and she’s already thriving on it!  She eats blended meals from a raised bowl, takes one easy liquid med, then relaxes in her crate to let her food settle (usually while sleeping ). That’s literally it. What breaks our hearts is imagining how long she struggled before anyone noticed. She’s still skinny, but she’s finally gaining weight, and her confidence is blossoming every single day in her busy foster home . Caddie is truly one of a kind! She’s friendly with everyone (people, kids, cats, dogs), gentle, submissive, potty trained, belly-rub obsessed, routine-loving, and just 28 lbs with ears that absolutely deserve their own fan club.  Yes, she needs a little extra care. But she gives back so much extra joy back and she serves the chance to have her very own forever home. Jeremy has returned to the shelter through no fault of his own. Unfortunately, there has been a change in the family dynamic and sadly neither party is in a position to take him, so he was returned to the safety of the shelter where we are going to find this young man another family to love him. He has been spending his days keeping his owner company while they worked from home, so we are unsure how he is going to handle long days home alone. He was trusted to roam the home freely because he`s potty trained and a good boy. He is not crate trained but with a little patience hell get it if you work outside the home. Reportedly he has been good with kids of all ages, but he does jump up to greet. He is reactive to both dogs and cats so he needs to be the only pet, but he is an awesome companion and has enough love to satisfy any family. Don`t let Jeremy wait long.

Hi!  My name is Mindy and I am looking for a forever home.  Me and my friend Missy were picked up by Animal Control and taken to a super scary place called a shelter where, after our hold times were up and no one came looking for either one of us, we were put on something bad called 'the list".  Fortunately for us, a worker at the shelter saw what good girls we were and contacted a small local rescue to see if they could take us in, then a volunteer with that rescue contacted BCAA to see if they could help us and they said yes!  We both appear to be bassett hounds, both of us are about a year old, and I am the smaller one at just under 25lbs.  I was just a little shy when I first came into foster but everyone is so nice to me and I get really good treats and lots of loving which is one of my most favorite things.  I have gotten along with the other dogs I have met and like to play; so far I haven't paid much attention at all to the cats I've met.  I go right into my crate when asked and I have done really well in one without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any bedding.  I enjoy my food and treats which I take gently.  I'm good on leash and love going for walks and exploring.  Due to my breed mix (us hounds love to follow our noses and tend to wander), if I'm not in a fenced area I will need to be on leash.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Loves ladies - more nervous around men - would be good for a couple but might have a hard time with a single man." Thier Foster Parent Says: "Hank is a very shy/nervous boy but once he warms up to you, he will become your bestfriend and a major cuddle bug. He loves to sprawl on the couch and play with his toys or chew on his bone. When he's not playing, he'll come right up to you for some snuggles (he's a great nap partner). Though he gets spooked by people outside, he is very calm indoors and most loud noises don't phase him (minus the vacuum). He is also the most quiet, gentle, and sweet soul. He may not know many commands, but he does understand the important ones - "no" and "drop it". He is smart and a fast learner so I'm sure he'll know plenty more in no time." Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from the South or Puerto Rico ; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them.
