Story
Meet Ophelia! Also known as Ophe or Ophie Loafie This fabulous gal is about 7 years old and 55 pounds of wrinkles, droop, and pure Basset attitude. Ophelia is sweet as can be and gets along great with cats, dogs, and even tiny humans (toddlers included!). She is an absolute love… with just the right amount of Basset naughtiness to keep things interesting. Let’s talk food because Ophelia definitely does. Plain kibble? Rude. She prefers her meals upgraded with wet food or, better yet, whatever her human is eating. She has standards, okay? Ophelia came to Real Dog Rescue needing some serious TLC. She arrived with a large cyst on her neck, infected ears, was very dirty, and was not spayed. Since then, she’s seen our amazing vets, enjoyed a spa day (or two), and is fully embracing the foster-life luxuries she always deserved. Her foster mom is helping her fine-tune her house manners—she has the occasional accident, but she’s trying her best and improving with consistency and patience. If you’re looking for a wrinkly, food-loving, slow-moving cuddle queen with a heart of gold, Ophelia is ready to loaf her way into your life 💕🐶 Ophelia is heartworm positive. We will be covering the cost of her treatment with our trusted vets. She will also be spayed soon. Apply at realdogrescue.org/adopt

Story
Boswell is a sweet friendly, adorable boy. He was born in August of 2020 and is a pure breed basset hound. He gets along with dogs and cats. He likes to be loved on, will often find him laying down at his owners feet. He enjoys walks at least daily, but is generally a little lazy. He often plays with his squeeker toys and likes to sleep in his open crate, next to his best friend Zeus. He is potty trained and goes out to do his business about twice daily. He eats once a day. He is not scared of loud noises. For a basset hound he is not too vocal but will let you know when someone is at the door.

Story
Hey hey hey! I'm Izzy, a 1 year old 40 pound Basset/Australian Shepherd mix. A very unique and beautiful girl. Let me tell you a little about myself. Gorgeous coat. CHECK. Friendly and sweet. CHECK. Likes to play with other dogs. CHECK. Wants to go for walks and adventures. CHECK. I'm a fun loving girl ready to be the light of your life and have so much fun every day. I'm a family- friendly dog that would do great in any home and will adapt to your lifestyle quickly. Everyone says my long body is so endearing and gives me a special look. People can't help but fall in love with me as soon as we meet. I just have that “way” about me! So what do you say? Let's have some fun together!Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog.We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org)Thanks so much.
