Story
Meet Twix, an adorable 35-pound Basset Hound mix with short legs, long ears, and a whole lot of love to give. This girl is the total package — playful, snuggly, goofy, and incredibly sweet. Twix is a big fan of toys and is happiest when she’s carrying one around or trotting across the room with her tail wagging. She will also fetch a ball, although not always bring it back to you! I mean, come on, she’s a Basset Hound, not a Retriever!!  While she has shown no signs of food or toy possessiveness in her foster home, adopters should always be mindful and practice good supervision, just as you would with any dog. She’s a happy sharer, but we always recommend common-sense precautions in new environments. Twix gets along well with most dogs and enjoys playtime. She can be a tiny bit snarky upon first meeting (Basset sass, what can we say?), but she settles quickly once she realizes everyone’s friendly. Twix is crate trained and will serenade you with a short Basset aria before settling down. She’s still working on her house training, but she does great when kept on a consistent schedule. She also rides beautifully in the car, hops in and out on her own, and handles stairs like a champ. At her core, Twix is a loving, joyful dog who adores attention and wants nothing more than to be someone’s cuddle buddy. She’s truly a wonderful companion, and the person who adopts her is going to be very, very lucky. If you're interested in meeting this sweet gal, please complete an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and be sure to ask for TWIX TX! November 27, 2025, 7:49 am

Story
Seven loves to show off! Confident, playful, and relaxed, he's an absolute delight to be around. His puppy personality shines through as he happily plays with and chews on his toys, and he's always eager for treats, bones, and showing off his new Christmas coat. Seven loves the perfect balance of outdoor adventure and cozy comfort—running and playing outside before settling in by the fire for a well-deserved nap. Perky and fun-loving, he'll enthusiastically chase after bones, balls, and even his own tail! But he's equally content cuddling up on the couch with his humans for quality snuggle time. With his sweet, gentle, and loving temperament, he's the perfect companion for anyone looking for a low-maintenance, fun-loving cuddle buddy who brings joy to every day. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturdays 11:30-1:30.If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Story
Maxwell is one laid back dude; he is pretty confident in new surroundings. Likes the easy life and doesn't ask for anything but pets and treats. He's potty trained and leash trained. He prefers the human bed for human naps and human nights. He's not into the wild energy of young dogs, but calm dogs and & low-key household would suit him best. He likes to give the husky music for no reason, starts out low and gets to a howl. He’s such a good boy, easy peasy to care for and would make a wonderful addition to the perfect family. Maxwell (Max) is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested neg for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.
