Story
Mamie arrived at Horse Creek on September 23, 2021. She may have a little Bassett Hound somewhere in her lineage, judging by her short legs. We can’t be certain, but she is a cutie! She loves to run and play with other dogs in our exercise areas. She gets along great with anyone she plays with. She loves people and never meets a stranger. Mamie will make an outstanding addition to a loving, caring family! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered and current on all vaccinations. They receive monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. All of their medical needs are taken care of before they are available for adoption. Our adoption fee is $100.00. Please complete an application, if you have found a dog you are interested in adopting. You can find our application at www.horsecreekwildlife.org/applic.html. Once completed, you can forward it to adoptions@horsecreekwildlife.org or fax it to 731-926-3000. Kim Austin, our adoption facilitator, will be in contact with you as soon as she has an opportunity to review your application. Understand that she has other duties and she will not ignore any interest shown in adopting one of our dogs. An application will need to be approved before a scheduled time to visit our dogs will be set up. It may take up to 48 hours before she returns your call or responds to your email, due to work schedules, holidays and adoption events. We do the very best we can for the dogs we have rescued and do not take the adoption process lightly. Please be patient and understand that we will place our rescued dogs in the very best homes possible and reserve the right to refuse applications.

He is extremely affectionate and will take all the attention you are willing to give him. We think he may be a Bassett hound mix. He currently weighs 32 pounds. Nan will make a great family pet! Story
I had adopted Ginger 2 years ago as a puppy. Born approx. February 2022. she weighs 40 lbs. long body and short legs. Loves to snuggle, give kisses, play in her pool, play with stick with her sister Kissie. Plays great with Kissie and Ms. Dumpling. Couple reasons for surrendering Ginger. I am 60 and had a mild stroke last summer 2023. Ginger has been spoiled as I do my other 2 dogs. I had checked into a trainer to help with her behavioral issues. I just cannot afford it. She needs to be with someone who can work with her. A home where she is the only dog. She gets jealous over treats and attention from me. If she hides a treat and other dog walks by, she will change and attack. But as a norm she is loving. She loves her oversized lambie, likes to be covered with a blanket and play. Oh, I had her on pet safe zap collar and uses washable potty mat while at work. I have allowed her to sleep and get on my furniture.
