Lennon is the last male from a litter of 8 that came to us as a result of an unwanted litter. Mom was told to us to be an Akita/Shepherd mix and Daddy was a Lab but Lennon looks like he has some Basset in him. Look at his feet and short legs. No matter what he is, he is a great young adult- just a year old now and about 49 lb.. Many breeds have a brindle coloring, one of which is Dutch Shepherd or Hound. This may be where their coloring is coming from. Lennon walks great on a leash and is easy to handle. He is loving and loves to be petted. This sweet girl was dumped on a county road near our home. We found her in a rain filled ditch at night. She hopped in the car as soon as we opened the door. We searched for her owner and posted signs and social media shares. No one claimed her! She loves playing with our golden retriever and cats. She does not have a chip. We then realized she was pregnant and she had 7 sweet puppies March 15! They are all so sweet and socialized. They will all get first shots this week! We would like to rehome her to a sweet family and find homes for all the puppies as well!

Charlie is an unusual, unique but gorgeous dog! He appears to be a mix of a Bassett Hound (with his short legs) and Golden Retreiver. What a great combo! He is about 7 months old and currently weighs about 35lbs but will likely grow to about 40-45lbs. He is so incredibly sweet and really loves the women! We have to say, he seems to be partial to the ladies:) However, he does do well with men and kids and loves to play with dogs of all sizes. He will steal your heart! He was rescued from a rural shelter when they became overcrowded, saving him from being killed.

Poppy is one of those happy, outgoing senior girls that ended up at a kill shelter through no fault of her own. She is a perfect house guest, has good house manners and can be trusted to stay out of everything. She is a typical Basset Hound, all about nosing around and looking for squirrels to tree and bark at. She gets along with all the other dogs in her foster home unless someone wants to invade her kennel space; even when the door is open she knows it is her kennel and she does not want to share her room (or her treats/food). Poppy has lots of energy, takes showing the puppies how to be good dogs seriously and does a great job of chasing the birds. She loves attention and humans of all sizes and ages. She would be a great travel companion, once she’s in the car she loves to ride. She is even great about ongoing ear maintenance that Basset Hounds require.She is fully vetted - current with her vaccines, spayed, on flea/tick and heartworm prevention and she is microchipped.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Beau story is heartbreaking. Beau's Mama left a hearbreaking voicemail for BRAT begging them to come pick up her baby. Beau lost his family when his family was going through a divorce. When a foster was found, the foster went out to look for Beau. That is when they discovered he was living in a car with his Mom. She didn't want to give up Beau, but she knew her boy didn't deserve that lifestyle. Through tons of tears, hugs, and kisses, Beau's Mama  surrendered him over to BRAT where she knew he would be safe. Even through all the changes Beau has gone through, he is still so loving, playful, and goofy.
