Honey Biscuit may be a senior lady, but she still has plenty of wiggle inside and out. This playful, ten-year-old beagle mix gets along well with dogs of all sizes. She enjoys being around people and whatever activities are bustling around her. When she gets excited, her hind end gets busy wiggling. Happy and healthy, Honey is comfortable in a crate, fabulous on her leash, and conducts her business outside like a lady. Having been on her own for a while, she will need to get used to being in a new space, so a fenced yard will help her feel safe, secure, and sheltered in her new home. Honeyâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a fan of walks, and with her lower energy level, a stroll is preferable to a run. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s sweet and loving (and a fan of treats) and quite the cuddler. A forever home where she can relax and enjoy the social scene around her will be a perfect fit. Whenever you are down, Petinua is there to get you smiling again. If she was a person she would be doing stand up comedy with Kevin Hart. Petinua is a HUGE help in the kitchen. She sits and waits for you to drop something so she can quickly help you clean it up. Need a bowl clean, she's your girl. But watch her closely. Her nose gets her into trouble. She loves to counter surf and might help you clean off your counter without your consent. She is learning to NOT sounter surf and will need somone to continue to work with her on it.Petinua is still learning her manners. Her stubborn ways forces her to learn a little slower so she will need someone with a ton of patience to keep her on the path of being the best silly dog ever but with manners.Petinua is always down to play. She LOVES people and is the first to start the playing with her brother Dudley. Petinua doesn't know her own strenght and tends to knock small kiddos over when she gets super excited to see them. So use caution if you have small kids.Petinua is the opposite of her brother, Dudley. This bonded pair compliments one another in the best possible way. Want someone who will sit with you while you binge your favorite tv show without judgement, Dudley is your guy. From time to time when you think you;ve had enough sitting, Dudley will wander with you to the kitchen to grab more snacks, maybe play a little just to help you work off your previous snacks and then will happliy wander back to the couch to start another series.Dudley does well in a crate and other dogs. He is still working on his manners so a home with patience will be ideal. Dudley loves all people, so much so, that he tends to jump to show his exictement. A home with small kids will need to use caution just because of his jumping. Dudley came into the rescue with his sister Petunia. She is house trained by using the doggie door, loves to play with her foster brother, and loves all the squeaky toys. Gemma is still learning her manners and would likely do best in a home without small children. Gemma is still learning about cats. Although curious about them, she hasn't been thoroughly tested with them. The resident cat stays away from all the dogs in the house. When Gemma isn't playing with toys, she is a huge snuggle bug. Whether you are looking for a dog who is ready for adventures or someone who will simply snuggle up on the couch in your lap to binge watch your favorite shows, Gemma is your perfect balance. Doofenschmirtz came with his name from the shelter, and truly acts like a Doof! He enjoys laying near people and staying close to his family. He has fun with stuffed animal toys. He has a lot of energy in bursts, but will often lounge during the day. He does well with kids and knows 'place.' He will use you as a pillow and loves to run in his dreams. He would do best in a house with some big dog friends, and probably not with cats or other small fluffy animals. He is a 'chowhound' as they say, but is in great health and is fully vaccinated. He has done well in boarding locations with other animals and would love a friend to run around with! Doof was rescued from the Carrollton animal shelter on Halloween 2024 after being moved there from the Denton animal shelter. He is up to date with all medical needs and is microchipped. He loves to sniff around in the backyard. He goes after any food that is left out (his favorite is bread), and will need more training to let go of food he shouldn't have. He is housebroken and has learned a lot over the last year about what it means to live in a home. We're looking for a new home for him after our job and travel situation changed. He's not an evil villain and would make a great friend to another dog! Merry came to DPA as a stray mom from CCAS after all of her puppies were adopted. When her foster we saw her sweet face they couldnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t look away. Merry was incredibly sick when she was pulled, battling distemper and pneumonia and came dangerously close to not making it. But this sweet girl has a whole lot of strength and she survived and is now thriving. True to her name, Merry is a happy, gentle soul. Even at her sickest, she wagged her tail and greeted each day with quiet optimism. Today, sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s low energy, calm, and content just being close to her people. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a professional cuddler who loves curling up in your lap and soaking in affection. Toys arenâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t her main thing but she absolutely loves treats. Merry is leash trained, crate trained, and potty trained, making her an easy addition to the right home. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s done well with other dogs and hasnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t met kids or cats yet. Her ideal home would be a peaceful, warm, low key environment where she can relax, cuddle, and feel safe.
