🐾 MEET BRUCE! 🐾 Bruce is a handsome 4½-year-old Coonhound mix weighing about 45 lbs. — the perfect size, not too big and not too small! ❤️ He’s only been with us for a few days, but so far he has shown us what a sweet, calm, quiet, and affectionate boy he is. 🎓 Bruce has already been through training and has a great foundation! He knows sit, down, heel, and his basic commands, and we’ll continue building on what he already knows. He is also extremely potty trained and will actually whine to let you know when he needs to go outside! 🏡 Bruce is definitely an indoor dog. He loves relaxing in his bed with some enrichment, hanging out with his people, giving kisses and little hand licks, and being a couch potato. He also does well being left home alone, so someone who works full-time could still be a great fit for him. But if you’re looking for an adventure buddy, Bruce would also be happy joining you for walks and hikes! 🥾🌲 🐕 We are continuing to assess him with other animals, but so far things have been encouraging! Bruce previously lived with a cat and a small dog, and since arriving here he has done well during introductions with a large German Shepherd and some smaller dogs. Bruce truly has so much potential, and we think he is going to make someone an amazing companion. ❤️ Even after adoption, Night Sky Rescue will continue to be there for support, and if Bruce needs additional training, we will help make sure he and his adopter have what they need to succeed. We’ll continue sharing updates as we learn more about him, but so far, Bruce is one really great dog! 🥹🐾 Interested in Bruce? 📧 nightskyrescueinc@yahoo.com 📞 805-875-7387 🌐 nightskyrescue.org & 💌 send us a message!

Story
Hi there! My name is Molly, and I`m a 2-year-old Beagle/Shepherd mix with a little extra magic—I have striking two-toned eyes (a rare trait called heterochromia)!True to my Beagle roots, I’m gentle, observant, and deeply affectionate once I know I`m safe. I can be a little shy at first, but once we bond, I’m fiercely loyal. I’m really looking for a calm, low-stress home with a patient, kind `gentle leader` who will let me blossom at my own pace.I’m a wonderfully mellow girl who loves a peaceful routine. I`m already potty trained, easy to walk on a leash, and I get along well with most other dogs. I’m not destructive at all—I much prefer quiet companionship. .I’m the kind of pup who brings, and prefers calm, not chaos, and I’d love to turn a quiet home into something truly special. If you`re looking for a soft-hearted, sweet companion, I might just be your perfect match!

Story
Francis is a 1 yr old neutered Lab mix who fractured his 5th metacarpal bones (bones just below his wrist) on both front limbs. The specialty center is doing a staged procedure to place hardware to help the fractures heal. He had one of the procedures already and is due to the next one in about 1 week. He is in splints/bandages currently. The surgical recovery period is estimated to be about 6-8 weeks. At this time of the recovery, he is required to have strict cage rest with no running, jumping, playing and leash walks only to go to the bathroom. He will also need his splints/bandages changed regularly. As he progresses in the recovery, he will most likely need some physical therapy but he is not there yet. Update 8/19: After over two months in foster care, Francis is healing well and has had his casts removed. He is a sweet dog who has been able to warm up to a two year old child in a foster home and done well being around calm large and small dogs. He is still on cage rest at this time as the vets continue to monitor and make sure his bones heal up properly, but after everything he has been through this cute pup is very ready to find his permanent home.
