I can be a little shy at first, but once we bond, I’m fiercely loyal. I’m really looking for a calm, low-stress home with a patient, kind `gentle leader` who will let me blossom at my own pace.I’m a wonderfully mellow girl who loves a peaceful routine. I`m already potty trained, easy to walk on a leash, and I get along well with most other dogs. This older gal struggles with chronic ear infections and skin inflammation. While she’s receiving treatment at the shelter, her behavior in our stressful environment makes this difficult. She is looking for a home or rescue willing to provide her the ongoing care she needs and deserves! She`s reported to have done well with cats and dogs in a previous home. She is incredibly fearful, is likely in pain and discomfort due to her ears and skin, and is difficult for shelter staff and volunteers to interact with safely. Brooke is looking for a very special home! Someone who will be vigilant at her dietary needs to help her get down to a healthy weight. Originally sold as a puppy to her one owner who suddenly passed away who loved on her so much that she didn't take into account her weight gain. Yes 55 pounds is obese for a beagle. We have all her records including her baby teeth! She hasn't been raised in a home with dogs and was raised by a single woman so she hasn't had a lot of excitement in her life. She misses her owner and needs a home that will give her the 100% attention that she is accustomed to. Transport is available within So. Cal. Let us know if you want to be Brooke's lifesaver!
