Story
We rescued Arthur four years ago from a shelter near LA. He’s six years old and what we call a “low-rider”—possibly a lab-beagle mix. Some say he looks like a pitbull-corgi blend, which has sparked a lot of debate. Arthur is very loving with our family. He’s the “mayor” of our neighborhood—he loves being around people and doesn’t like being left alone. He struggles with anxiety and is terrified of fireworks, which makes beach living tough for him. He loves running and playing with other dogs but often gets reactive around bigger ones—especially huskies. He has what we call “small man syndrome,” which is funny but worth keeping an eye on. He’s never tried to run away, listens well, is fully potty trained, and has a bladder of steel. Arthur can be unpredictable in busy, chaotic settings, and our home is often that way. It’s not fair to him—he needs a calmer home. He really loves being in the woods too. He is a perfect best friend for quieter home. Absolutely perfect.

Story
This adorable 2 year old (as of august 2025) lemon beagle boy came to us because he was playing too rough with the little dog in the home. He is doing GREAT at our rescue with small and mid size dogs so the problem was the other dog. He is sweet and affectionate with people and would love a home where someone is home a lot and/or a doggy pal to hang with as beagles love company. To find out how to meet this dog please submit an application from our website or email our rescue and adoption center at: adopt@petadoptionfund.org or call (818) 340-1186 For general calls please contact (818) 340-1186.

Story
We rescued this sweet 4 year old (as of September 2025) boy and he is looking for his forever home. Sweet and loving, like most of his breed he will want a home where someone is home most of the time, and/or a doggy pal to hang with and a yard, no apartments or condos please as beagles have big voices! He is the larger size beagle at about 38lbs and loves to walk and go on adventures or just hang with you! To find out how to meet this dog please submit an application from our website or email our rescue and adoption center at: adopt@petadoptionfund.org or call (818) 340-1186 For general calls please contact (818) 340-1186.

Story
In October 2024, WEACT and 14 other rescue organizations headed to a puppy mill site in Busan that had over 550 dogs. This horrendous site was also located next to a dog meat farm. The site, where many animals were slaughtered, bore horrifying traces on the various machines and tools. In a place where death is a daily reality, Bert was rescued there.

The site, where many animals were slaughtered, bore horrifying traces on the various machines and tools. In a place where death is a daily reality, it was ironically a pregnant mother dog, carrying new life, who huddled tightly while nursing her puppies. WEACT rescued Toby from that unspeakable place.
