Story
Meet Bruce! He is a 4 year old tri colored Beagle weighing just 20 pounds. Bruce and his traveling buddy, Wayne, were found in a cemetery in Kentucky. They were likely hunting dogs that couldn't find their way back home. Bruce has a great sense of smell and the notorious beagle bay. He is very sweet and very puppy like. He enjoys chewing on chew bones and playing with toys. He is good with other dogs and with his easy going personality should be good with children, he has not been around cats. He is working on pottying outside and just needs a consistant schedule to solidify good potty habits. Bruce's adoption fee of $300 covers his neuter, vaccines, microchip with registration, flea preventions, and heartworm preventions. To make him a part of your family, please apply at gfrpets.org/apply ##1768760##

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Clove is a sweet spicy gal, she has such a soft shiny coat it is relaxing just petting her. That's fine with miss Clove because she loves to sit by your side chewing on a bone and be petted. Ok yes any treat is just fine with Clove as you can see she is a bit hefty. We are taking long walks to try to melt away a pound or 2 maybe 5 or 6...Don't let her fool you she does like to walk. She is good on a leash and like any beagle she has her nose to the ground. She does not tug and pull she is just at the end of the leash zigging and zagging ( not at any great speed or with any great force). Clove is pretty relaxed in all her activities. She likes toys but has no great desire to retrieve anything. Clove is a happy gal she was shy at 1st but as soon as she settled in she was quite excited to see us and get some cuddles, She does have a mind of her own, beagles right ! However she pretty easy to convince to walk a little further. Clove came in with her friend Coriander who is going through heartworm treatment, they would like to go home to gather if possible. Cloves seems to like other dogs too, she is just a friendly gal, cats don't seem to be of any interest to her and she is not a big barker, this could change in a home environment. What I can tell you is that you won't have to sweep as often if you drop a tiny morsel of food she is very helpful in cleaning that up for you. She does like to be a girl on the go she just doesn't have to go as far or as fast as some. We are starting to se more of her personality as her stay with us lengthens. Her little tail wags moor, she smiles more, and is happy to see us every morning. In a home her personality should bloom. If you would love to live with a relaxed kind of gal who will let you run your figures though her soft thick coat while you sit on the sofa and watch Netflix and eat popcorn. Go on easy paced walks while stopping to smell the roses now and then this may be the gal for you. What is better then 1 beagle maybe 2 beagles check out her friend Coriander too.

Story
Corriander is a shy to new surrounding's much like her friend who she shares a kennel with Clove. We have seen her start to open up as she get familiar with us and her current surroundings. Because she is going through heartworm treatment we have had to keep her quiet with short walks and cuddles We haven't had the opportunity to experience as much with her as others. She was found as a stray with her friend Clove in another state before her journey to us. So a great reason to be a bit shy with new places. Through everything this girl as been through she has always been sweet. We can't wait soon she will be through heartworm treatment and have no restrictions Here is what we have learned so far she loves to go for walks and has pepe in her step. Dogs, puppies, sr, dogs, yep gets excited to see them all . She wants to play with all the dogs, Her friend Clove is a bit less excitable about play time. Ok cats... well cats are a little scary, they may eat beagles, she just is not sure about them. SO go SLOW introductions to cats in the home. Coriander is a sweet girl with a zest for life and as pep in her step. She will blossom in a home with a family she can depend on and feel safe that she is going to stay with them for for life. She would like to go home with her friend Clove if possible. She would like another dog in the home, Cats well we are still thinking about those . She may have to meet a couple more before she decides how she feels about them. She is a very sweet but shy girl that unfortunately, tested heartworm positive upon intake. She'll need to undergo heartworm treatment prior to adoption. If you are local to Central Illinois and are interested in adopting her, please consider foster to adopt through her heartworm treatment.

Now this is the story all about howMy life got flipped, turned upside downAnd I'd like to take a minute just enjoy my rapI'll tell you how I became the prince of a place called TAPSNear the Illinois River born and raisedIn a home is where I spent my earlier daysChilling out, maxing, relaxing on a couchAnd all chasing some balls and stuff outside of the houseWhen some things started happenin' that were really no goodSoon I left my home and my neighborhoodI got taken for a ride and when I woke up from my napThey said "You're moving with the doggies and kitties at TAPS"A nice person approached and when they came near, theirT-shirt said "TAPS" and they scratched my cute earsIf anything I could say that this shelter rocksI've got food and water, they take me for walksBut I'd love my own family - a house would be greatI'd yell to my buddies "Yo, homes smell you later!"I could look at my kingdom at the end of this poem And reign as the prince of my forever home!!

Due to the construction of our state of the art facility, none of our pets are on site, they are all located in foster homes at this time. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within 72 hours or less. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on those days. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey: A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pets availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents via a meeting app). We do require that adopters discuss all questions before pickup via phone or email in order to minimize direct contact with our staff/volunteers at the time of adoption. After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system* *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar.
