Story
Meet Reginald! He's an estimated 10-12 month old beagle that was found as a stray and never reclaimed. He is a recent transfer from Peoria County Animal Protective Services. He is dog and human friendly, and we will post more as we get to know this handsome boy!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Rhinestone is currently enjoying her time in a foster home while she undergoes heartworm treatment! Her foster mom says: "She's absolutely sweet. Nothing seems to bother her much, and she's been enjoying our walks. Lots of stuff to sniff! Easy to walk, not overly fond of the stairs, and loves her naps. We do have to work on house training; she's had several accidents, so we're working with her on that. She didn't like the hard kibble, but if we mix a little with the soft food, she'll eat it. She loves wet food too!"

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Oregano recently had a doggie day out with an approved foster - this is what her foster mom for the day had to say: "Since it was so nice out, we were outside most of the day. Oregano was very curious and her nose lead the way. The dog intro was super easy so we played and ran around the yard the whole afternoon. Lots of chasing and running with my beagle. No accidents in the house that I saw but again we were outside all day so plenty of opportunity out there. She definitely knows to go outside but more time spent inside I could better assess.I didn't find her to be shy or timid. She's kind of a happy go lucky girl. I kind a let her come to me and eventually she became way more affectionate, but was definitely more interested in the dogs at first.I think she would thrive with another dog in the home that matches her energy level. Oregano really doesn't have an off switch and my beagle would try to nap, but she really wouldn't leave him alone but he is 9 after all. The only behavior that needs to be worked on is when she's excited she jumps. But she corrected really well. All around I thought Oregano is a great girl. Again, she has a lot of energy but not destructive that I could tell. She rides well in a car although she was nervous as we left the shelter but that's understandable. She takes treats really gently and I think would make a great family dog, but definitely could benefit from a fenced in yard or a playmate to avoid boredom."

Not good with dogs, Not good with cats,
Story
Delight has big brown eyes that will melt your heart and a delightful personality to go with them. She is a happy and sweet girl that likes to be with her people and cuddle next to them on the couch. She joyfully plays with toys, enjoys chew toys, and tummy rubs!  She is on medicine due to damaged caused by heartworms. However, she still enjoys a typical walk around the neighborhood. She has a tendency to dash at cars while on walks so her forever person would need to be able to handle that.  She would be the perfect dog for a person or couple looking for a lower-key companion to curl up this winter. We are looking for her to be the only dog in the home. Her adoption fee has been sponsored which means the adopter pays no fee. However, a adoption application still needs to be submitted and approved. Who can open their home to this sweet girl?November 26, 2023, 12:15 am

If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720).
