Story
Kevin is a charming dog who likes meeting new people and other dogs. He is housetrained and has done well both crated or free in the foster home. He is very well-mannered and mild in the home. He likes having his own space, and is not a cuddler, but is friendly and curious. Once he is outside he shows his size and strength. He would benefit from having someone who can work with him on leash training and be sure he gets plenty of exercise throughout the day.

Story
Juke is an adorable medium sized dude who just loves to run and play in the yard. He likes squeaky toys the most and will happily chase them until he simply must roll in the grass to cool down. He knows how to sit for treats and is always hungry for snacks. Juke can be a bit nervous about meeting new people, so he would appreciate someone who can take it slow when it comes to things like petting. He does like a good booty scratch as much as the next guy, but he just wants to get to know you first! We have recently found that Juke also enjoys playing with other dogs! He is a rowdy dude in the play yard, so he would be best suited to a dog that can match his energy. No cats for Juke, though.

Story
Posted 8/6/2023. Elsa and Darla are the sweetest and cutest Beagles. Elsa is 2 years old and is the daughter of Darla who is 6 years old and the are a very bonded pair. They were surrendered by an individual who could no longer take care of them and who kept them outside their whole life. It was only while in foster care that they learned what it is like to be safe, well fed and loved. Everything was new to them but they claimed the couch as their favorite spot very quickly. when they arrived last spring, Both Elsa and Darla were in rough shape and had to be treated for heartworm. They have recovered quickly and very well and very happy. They also have been spayed and vaccinated as well as dewormed and they are on heartworm/flea/tick prevention. True beagles, they love to be outside - nose on the ground! :) and apparently they roamed the streets a lot. Therefore we think that it is best if they go to a home with a decent size securely fenced in yard so they can run and snoop around at their hearts' content. Elsa and Darla are good with other dogs and they are good with children. They both like cats BUT they also like their food and they like to check out the litter boxes a little too much.... Cat boxes and cat food would have to be in a place that is not within reach. In general both just LOOOOVE eating and will climb on furniture to get to that piece of toast that you leave out...Both pups are crate trained and almost house trained. They are a lot of fun and a joy to have around. Please consider giving these two sweeties a loving forever home together. If you are interested in adopting the two please fill out an adoption application (one is enough) on our web site. The adoption fee is $150 for each pup. If you have any more questions or would like more information please email us at inthenest@gmail.com and we will put you in contact with the foster mom directly.

Story
Reece is an adorable beagle-mix puppy who found himself at a very over-crowded shelter where things were very unpleasant. Misty Eyes brought him to our rescue so that he can find a forever home. He's a typical puppy...active, playful and still in need of some training as all puppies are! He is only 20 lbs at 5 months so we expect he will be a medium sized dog full grown. If you'd like to meet Reece, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.

Hi!! I`m Chef!! The only thing I`m good at cooking up is my love and affection!! I am about 10 months old and weigh 26 pounds. I am a very sweet and friendly boy!! I came to the shelter as a stray, so it will be unknown how well I would do with other dogs and cats, but I am looking for a home with no young kids. That`s okay though we can learn these things together. I am still considered a puppy which means I could always benefit from training!! Slow proper introductions are always best to set me up for success in the new home. Come in and meet me today!!!

All of our available animals and the adoption application can be found here: https://indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet. Once you have submitted your application, an adoption counselor will forward your information to the foster parent who will reach out to you for an appointment.

Story
Waylon is a lover! This 1-year-old sweetie loves to snuggle and hang out together. He also loves to go for walks and explore together. He has never met a stranger and gets along well with all kinds of friends (kids/cats/dogs). He will make a wonderful companion for his lucky forever family!  Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Each dog in our rescue is in a loving foster home, where they can grow, play, and recover from their time spent on the streets or in a shelter. If you'd like to meet an adoptable dog, please fill out an application on our website, www.edcr.org. Because we are a foster home based rescue a completed adoption application is required to meet our adoptable dogs. December 7, 2023, 6:50 pm

Story
Red Skelton is a 1 1/2 year old beagle weighing about 35 lbs. And, as you can see by his pictures. he adores toys! He will gather 2-4 of them up in his mouth at one time and carry them around if he can. Toys are his "woobies"! It's so cute! Red Skelton goes out in the play yards with a mixture of male & female dogs and does fine but he is a slightly dominant male so he likes to play with the girls the most. When his mouth doesn't have a toy in it, he seems to always have a smile on his face. He does get so much enjoyment out of playing chase & wrestling with the other dogs that we would prefer that he go to a home with a playful female. Red is very friendly and outgoing with people as well. He was found as a stray and ended up at a high kill shelter; he was on the euthanasia list due to overcrowding and we were asked to help. He is just a wonderful boy! Red Skelton's adoption fee is $200; he is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations as well as heartworm preventative. PLEASE READ: Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable dogs! All dogs listed are still available. If interested, please complete our no obligation application. This can be found at www.waldosmuttleycrew.org. Select the Applications tab, then Adoption Application. THE APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED BEFORE WE CAN START THE PROCESS. It can take up to a week to process an application. We are an all-volunteer rescue so please be patient. Our adoption area is limited to a 4 hour radius of Indianapolis. We try our best to provide all information in our bios. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask during the interview process. Some of our dogs have special requirements such as needs another dog in the home or requires a physical and permanent fenced yard. These requirements are not negotiable. Unless otherwise noted, we do not cat test our adoptable dogs. We also require that all pets in your household be spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and on a monthly heartworm/flea preventative. E-MAILS: We do not respond to e-mail inquiries without an application. We regret that we cannot respond to every e-mail unless you fill out an application. All the dogs we offer for adoption have been spayed/neutered, wormed and microchipped, are up-to-date on immunizations, have been tested for heartworm and are currently receiving a monthly preventative. If the dog had additional medical issues, those have also been addressed. Visit our website www.waldosmuttleycrew.org for more information and to complete an application. Two year old beagle, Dorothy, is ready for her "furever home" along with her best friend & soul mate, Luther! This pair had a pretty rough time in their past. They were confiscated from a drug house along with over 50 other dogs during a police raid. When we got them, they had to deal with drug withdrawal along with PTSD related to abuse & undersocialization. They have both come so very far. Luther now lets most people pet and cuddle with him; Dorothy still has trust issues but, given time & lots of peanut butter, she is now climbing in laps. Once Dorothy learns that you are safe, she just can't get enough attention and will stay in your lap for hours, snuggled up as close as she can get. This pair is also the source of much laughter for us as their antics during play are hilarious. Both are so mischievous! Dorothy delights in high speed chases and is incredibly fast; once she tires, Luther will pounce on her and they wrestle & play tug of war. They will need a large fenced in yard so that they can play & explore - two things they never got to do in their previous life. Dorothy & Luther are too scared to be in a home with children as they still have trust issues; they need calm, patient parents who will be able to give them all the love & attention they crave so that they can thrive & continue to learn that the world and people are safe. The adoption fee for this pair is $375; they are spayed/neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations as well as monthly heartworm/flea prevention. Applications are available at waldosmuttleycrew.org . (Indianapolis area)

Story
WE LOVE GILLIGAN!!! And we are sure you will, too! He's an adorable 3 year old, 20 lb beagle who's all tail wags & wiggles! Gilligan is a happy go lucky boy who wakes up every day with a smile on his face; he's just a little ray of sunshine! He does have neurological issues caused by brain damage due to a slight skull deformity. This could have been a congenital issue or perhaps trauma when he was born. As a result, Gilligan is permanently puppy-like in his behaviors & demeanor. He's a bit clumsy and uncoordinated but still loves racing around the yard & wrestling with other dogs. He's mischievous and is fascinated by feet when you are walking; he's such a silly boy! Gilligan is getting the idea of potty training but it seems that he might need to always wear a diaper when indoors ... we just aren't sure yet. Because of his brain damage, he's a little slow ... but he's eager to please and so much wants to make his "people" happy! Gilligan loves to go on walks and is absolutely perfect in the car; he lies down & goes to sleep immediately. The car noise lulls him into a deep snooze. Gilligan's perfect Furever Home will have a fenced in yard, a playful dog companion and someone who is home with him most of the time. If you think Gilligan would be a good fit for you, please let us know! His adoption fee is $225; he is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and on monthly heartworm / flea preventative. And he's also had his teeth cleaned! Applications are available at waldosmuttleycrew.org . (Indianapolis area)
