Story
Elizabeth is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart. Life has been a little overwhelming for her lately, and she can be cautious when meeting new people or facing new situations, but underneath that uncertainty is a gentle, sweet soul who wants very much to connect. Once she has a chance to settle in and realize she`s safe, her personality begins to shine. She`ll trot over with soft wagging tails, lean in close, and even roll into your lap for affection. Watching Elizabeth build confidence is one of those special experiences that reminds you just how resilient dogs can be. Elizabeth`s happiest moments seem to come when she can simply relax and enjoy the world at her own pace. She loves getting outside to explore, stretch her legs, and roll around in the grass. Volunteers have watched her transform from a worried wallflower into a playful, happy dog who enjoys adventures and quietly keeping company with her favorite people. She isn`t looking for someone to rush her. She`s looking for someone willing to give her a little patience and a lot of love. In return, they`ll get the privilege of seeing her blossom into the wonderful companion she is clearly meant to be. All adoptions include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving the shelter`s care. Story
Meet Tessa! A 3 year old beagle English bulldog mix. I guess one of them designer Mutts. Beautiful dog indeed she is but..... Takes a very patient , willing, and very understanding person to adopt Tessa. Sadly she has had 3 homes and everyone quit as she was all over the map (she is much better now). She does it all and has no care as she does NOT HIDE WHEN DOING NAUGHTY THINGS. She is a total sweet heart. Bless her heart! She is just mischievous as hell! We are working hard to eliminate those awful behaviors. All while on a strict diet and lots of exercise through out the day. In the last few months she has lost good weight (she was too fat), has learned, and accepts correction, and progress is being made with basic obedience training. She is great when asked to stay still for baths, nail trimming, teeth brushing, ear cleaning finally! She is cat, dog, and kid friendly too! Tessa is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped, neutered, and on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention. Updated: 2/1/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.

Story
Meet Karai!!! Karai is a 5-year-old, beagle TWCH beagle mix, who's been with us since fall 2020. Karai came to us transferred in from another rescue. She was extremely feral, supposedly. With time she showed us she is timid and shy but curiosity gets the best of her, always. Karai needs a home that will, embrace her curiosity, encourage her and not feel bad or sorry for her. She needs patience and nurturing, but an environment where she will not be held back nor limited. Be confident it's all okay. Every day is new to her as she improves. We do not shelter her or take any outrageous precautions to accommodate her insecurities. We encourage and expose her and introduce her to as many things, places, toys, food, locations, and adventures as possible. She is thriving and continues to thrive and improve every day! Karai is great with all dogs. She is best in the home with other dogs. She can be very playful with all dogs, and respectful of cats. Older kids would be best, if any. Karai loves her daily walks, a nice fence in the yard 4 ft minimum is a must, and a home with at least one other balanced, active, playful outgoing dog who will help her continue to overcome her fears is preferred. Karai is very food motivated. Oh, man is she ever! Loves all food! She is still a bit jumpy but each day we notice improvement. Patience is the key to best helping her be the best dog she was meant to be. Plus she's so sweet and calm and best of all LAZZZYYY! Karai is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto and corona as well as rabies, dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped including free registration, spay, and current on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention. Chewy is a 4 year old who has lived through far more than any dog should. His life prior to Sketchy Mutts was very sad, and he is just learning to trust humans and enjoy the comforts of his new foster home. Despite his rough past, Chewy is a sweetheart. He loves to play and snuggle, and seems so eager to please. He does occasionally get vocal and growly when being asked to do something he doesn’t want to do (like go in his crate 🙄🙄) but with a little patience, Chewy will do just about anything for you. He is currently in a foster home with a male dog and a cat, both of whom he's doing quite well with. He is still a bit unsure of the cat, and gets short, supervised visits, but he seems interested more than anything. Chewy deserves the very best, and we're here to help him find it. Are you the perfect home for this good boy? Story
Meet the dynamic duo ... Dory & Luther! This pair will have you smiling in no time with their hijinks and antics! They just LOVE snuggles and cuddles! But when they aren't getting ear scratches and tummy rubs, they revel in games of chase and wrestling in the yard. Dory gets very proud of herself when she finds a toy and prances around like a racehorse with her prize in her mouth. Luther is our mischievous boy who is known to steal a treat from a countertop when he thinks no one is looking. Unfortunately, their first year and a half was not good. They were confiscated after a police raid of a drug house along with 45 other dogs. Both were severely traumatized from what they had experienced for those first 18 months. Luckily, they have flourished and blossomed as they've learned that people are safe and can be the source of good things. Dory is still pretty tentative around men; males were NOT good to her previously. She can learn to trust men with patience and kindness. Luther accepts everyone with a wagging tail. He is definitely Dory's "woobie" and provides her with a sense of confidence and feeling of safety. Dory follows his lead and feels safer when he is around. They are definitely a bonded pair. Both dogs are now 5 years old after rehabilitating with us for 3 1/2 years. Dory is an adorable beagle weighing about 25 lbs. Luther is a lab/border collie mix who is about 60 lbs. The ideal home for these wonderful dogs will have a secure fenced-in yard and, due to Dory's fear issues, no children under 16 years of age. They do need a calm home environment without a lot of visitors as it would be too much for Dory to handle as she progresses. Their new parents will need to be patient, loving and understanding as the two adjust to home life but they will reap an enormous amount of love this sweet pair. The adoption fee for both dogs is $300. They are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations and heartworm/flea preventative.

Red is a 4-year-old tri-color beagle weighing about 35 lbs who is personality personified!!! He has never met a stranger and loves to make new friends. He likes to serve as one of the "greeting committee" when people come to visit the Waldo’s Dog Dorm and welcomes people of all shapes, sizes, sexes and ages. Red is a happy-go-lucky, mischievous boy. He's our leprechaun who always searches for the toys and is known to counter surf on occasion. Red is active and so much fun! He thrives on games of chase and wrestling with all his doggy friends. However, when not playing, Red wants to cuddle for ear massages and tummy rubs. Although good with most dogs, Red is a pretty dominant male. He is able to be in the play yards with other males and does fine, but he does not do well with other dominant males and will stand his ground. His favorite playmates are the girls, so we feel that a very playful female is what he needs in his forever home. Red wouldn't do well as an "only dog," as he takes so much joy in rough housing and doing zoomies with all the other dogs at Camp Waldo. Also, because he is very active and mischievous, he would become bored if he didn't have a very playful "sister dog" which would lead to destructiveness and, more importantly, Red just wouldn't be happy. Red's ideal home will have a large fenced-in yard, a gregarious friend and people who will give him the activity he needs as well as the attention he craves. He is truly an amazing, happy wonderful boy who will make a fabulous family member. Red's adoption fee is $250. He's neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations as well as monthly heartworm/flea prevention.

Meet Minnie! If loud and goofy basset hounds are your type, Minnie is sure to win you over. Minnie loves to romp around the yard, play “chase” with dog friends, and of course take sniffaris any chance she can. She has been working on potty training and crate training, and seems to be food motivated. She has a social, happy personality at home with her people, but can be shy in new situations. She would love a home where she can continue to learn about exploring the world, but is also happy as a clam to be a home body with all kinds of fun and enrichment. Minnie is a smidge taller than some basset hounds, but photos make her look even taller. Minnie is fully vetted and just over a year old. She is ready to head home when her new family comes along! Her adoption fee is $275. If you are interested in Minnie, head to farfetcheddogrescue.org for an application!

Fawnda approaches life with the enthusiasm of someone who never got the memo about taking things slow. Staff discovered a dog who is overflowing with personality, eager to make friends, quick to hand out kisses, and always ready for the next adventure. Toys are one of her favorite things in the world, and she seems happiest when she has something fun to carry around or a person nearby to share the excitement with. From the moment she arrived, she made it clear that she loves being part of the action and has no shortage of affection to give. Beneath all that energy is a dog who genuinely enjoys people and wants to be involved in whatever is happening around her. Staff have found her friendly, easy to handle, and eager to connect. She has also shown polite social skills during dog introductions, greeting another dog with loose, relaxed body language before happily continuing on her walk. Fawnda is the kind of dog who can turn an ordinary afternoon into an adventure, whether that means a game with her favorite toys, a long walk, or simply making you laugh with her larger-than-life enthusiasm. For someone looking for a joyful companion who lives every day to the fullest, Fawnda may be exactly the dog they`ve been waiting for. Meet Tonka Tank. Also known as Mr.T Who is or soon will be a year old. Tank is a sweet, easy, playful, well-rounded active fun lovely person, just a good happy boy. He can be timid and a bit unsure but if you are confident he will be too. Tank loves his walks as much as he loves his toys. He walks pretty nice on a leash and I dare to say, almost perfect. Daily walks, some toys, and plenty of affection are more than enough to keep him happy. Tank has excellent manners but remembers he is still just a puppy. He is crate and house-trained, and good with people and other dogs. I will cat-test him upon request. With a little guidance and effort, Tank will continue his way to becoming the best family dog. Tank is a very simple happy happy-go-lucky goofy excited boy. His bark is deep and it adds to his size and people feel discouraged. Though, he, truly is just a big dork who is just as insecure and unsure as those who are of him. Tank is smart but not in a challenging way. Tonka Tank is fully vetted, and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccines, neutered, dewormed, chipped, and comes with all paperwork for proof. A foster, or best his forever home wanted.
