Story
Rudy is approximately 9 years old, and was adopted from Michiana Humane Society in 2018. She grew up with another dog and 3 kids. She has spent the last 2 years with cats. She is extremely docile with adults and LOVES affection. She has recently shown food aggression around the kids and has attacked the cats 2 times in the last 2 weeks. She would thrive in an adult only home, with humans who stay home often or are able to take her on adventures with them. She loves belly rubs and long walks. She has never bitten a human but has bitten the cats. She will growl if anyone nears her food. This is extremely devastating for our family, but I can’t risk her aggression generalizing to the kids, as it’s posing a safety risk to my family. She is very loyal to the person she bonds to, and I’ve never met a person who didn’t fall in love with her. I want her to find a safe, loving family that can give her the time and attention she deserves as she continues aging, to help with her anxiety 🩷

Story
Waylon 3 year old, male, beagle English bulldog mix. Smart, quiet for a beagle, loving with adults, too rough with children, treat and food obsessed. Must be kept on leash while outside (even in fenced in yards he finds a way out). Does not get along well with other animals because he does not know when to stop playing. Will do best in home as only pet with adults only

Story
Blue and Skeeter are wonderful eager to please velcro dogs. They would love nothing more than to spend the day curled up next to you or out exploring and being active. They have a lot of energy but are just as happy being couch potatoes. They are 7 year old Beagle terrier mixes who were found dumped together as puppies. Blue has been known to be too smart for his brother's own good and is good at distracting him to get the toy or person he wants. Skeeter is just happy to be around his brother and a person who will give him the most attention possible. They are very eager to please and love to learn, if it makes their people happy. Skeeter sometimes needs a bit of extra time to figure out new things, but he'll watch his brother and figure it out. They both need a bit of help learning how to be a dog again and that people come back. They are great boys and if someone is willing to help them learn they'll pick it up quick. They haven't been socialized in 3 years but previously went to doggy daycare. They needed a close eye but we're progressing at the time. They'd need some time before becoming another dogs friend. They haven't met any cats or young children before. They have the instincts of a hunting dog, usually happily retrieving live animals. They've met pet rats previously and gotten a bit too excited for their own good. They've been better with smaller dogs than larger dogs but living with other types of small animals would probably not be the best. Blue needs some help overcoming some resource guarding behavior but is a wonderful dog once he can be reassured there will always be enough for him from now on. These boys are full of love and life and would love nothing more than to have a good pawrent or family to share it with.       If you are interested in Blue and Skeeter please fill out an adoption application at:  https://www.dogsaredeservingrescue.com/adopt August 7, 2026, 5:00 pm
