Story
Molly is an approximately 5 year old beagle mix who currently weighs about 40 pounds. Her ideal weigh is about 25 to 30 so she is in need of a weight loss plan. Molly is working on her potty training and will tolerate crating but is very rarely if ever crated. She mostly ignores cats and is dog selective. Molly came to us with her 7 couple day old puppies from rural Kentucky. She is considered semi feral by her foster mom but can be handled and is non aggressive.  If you are viewing this pet's profile on Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet,.please use the application link at the bottom of the profile to apply. Story
It breaks my heart to have to do this, but my family I need to re-home our beloved dog Oliver. He has not adjusted well to our recent addition, our 16 month old son. We have tried for months to make the situation work, but we feel like Oliver isn’t getting the attention he deserves. A little bit about our boy… he is a boxer/beagle, about 35/40 pounds, and a very sweet dog! He is a senior pup (about 12 years old) with early stages of kidney disease. He is prescribed a special food and it’s manageable, he just needs bathroom breaks every 2/3 hours. He loves to cuddle, is house broken, and is need of a quiet home so he can lounge for his remaining days. He’s a licker, not a biter and doesn’t bark. He has been a city dog all his life. He gets along with other dogs and children, HOWEVER, he is best suited for an adults only home with NO OTHER PETS. When he is not getting the attention he needs he has accidents indoors. We have noticed he gets jealous of other pets.

Story
Hey there- I’m Snoopy. I know not a very creative name for a beagle but I was surrendered to the shelter with that name and ALIVE kept my name so I felt comfortable. My foster mom calls me nothing but a snuggle bug in the house. I love to spend the afternoon lounging in my favorite comfy chair. When I get outside, however, I’m a true beagle whose nose rules everything. I live to sniff around and chase the scents. I also make the cutest beagle noises when excited. I have learned a lot so far in my foster home. I know sit, shake, and up-for a treat of course. I also do well on a leash and don’t mind my crate at all. If you love little guys with long floppy ears, a huge brain, the desire to please and a lust for long naps, I’m the dog for you.

Story
Lucy is a beautiful, young red and black tri-color Beagle. I believe she had a very rough start to her young life and she had a challenging time during her first weeks of adjusting to life as a foster in our home. She was extremely fearful of us but seemed to gain her confidence by following our dogs around. But with time, patience, a thunder shirt and a lot of love she learned to trust people again and started approaching us for attention. She has been around other dogs and people and did very well. She has had some children pet her and she was fine. She’s very curious about our cat but does not bother her. She looks forward to her meals now and eats without being fearful. She exhibited extreme anxiety in a closed crate so we let her choose where she sleeps. Sometimes she will sleep in a crate with the door open but she seems to prefer the dog bed at night and for naps. She caught on to the doggie door quickly and has had very few accidents. Her separation anxiety is much better and we usually leave each dog with a frozen Kong if we have to go away for awhile. She is a quiet pup but likes to join in the welcome home chorus when we come home. She walks fairly well on a leash but her Beagle nose does dictate her navigation. She loves to run in an open field that is fenced with the other dogs. She LOVES toys and empties the toy basket faithfully every single day. She likes to do zoomies in our fenced yard and loves when we play “chase” with her. She can handle short car rides but does get car sick on longer trips. She now has prescription meds for her motion sickness but we have not had the chance to try it yet. She is definitely showing her playful, curious and affectionate personality now. Lucy needs a rescue-experienced adopter who is familiar with anxiety and its signs and symptoms. She will do best in in a home with a fenced yard where alone time is very minimal and another dog would be a big bonus since she loves to cuddle with our senior dog. She is a gentle soul that has just gotten the hang of “being a dog”. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
