Story
Duke D. is an unusually proportioned shortie who is something of a nervous Nancy. He likes to sniff on his own time when he thinks you aren't looking, so please pretend not to perceive him until he instructs you otherwise. He will accept offerings of treats from the safety of the ground (he'd prefer not to eat from stranger's hands--who knows where they've been!). Duke does enjoy a leisurely walk and would be pleased to co-exist at your side during an evening stroll. Cuddles are an earned privilege with Duke, so he hopes you understand if he's not open to it on the first date. Accordingly with his bassett hound heritage, he prefers not to have his feet touched and considers the vet's office his version of a haunted house. Duke D looks forward to finding his people so they can help him spread his core messages of appreciating the slow burn and consent to pet.
