Story
Penny is a 1.5-year-old female Beagle/Red Heeler mix, named for her beautiful coppery coat and her shiny, easygoing personality. She has the unmistakable face of a beagle paired with the striking coat pattern of a red heeler—truly the best of both worlds. Miss Penny recently finished raising a litter of puppies, and now that her mom duties are behind her, she’s fully embracing a life of relaxation. You’ll often find her basking in the sunshine or curled up on the comfiest spot she can claim. She loves being around people and will happily greet you with a joyful tail wag and a few polite “drive-by” sniffs to say hello—then it’s right back to lounging. While Penny is wonderfully laid-back indoors, her energy perks right up when it’s time to head outside. True to her beagle roots, she loves exploring and can spend ages with her nose to the ground, taking in all the exciting smells the world has to offer. Penny gets along great with other dogs and is very tolerant of them—even when they interrupt her relaxation time. She also does well with cats and kids, making her an easy fit for many households. She’s fully potty-trained, crate-trained, and knows her basic commands. Plus, she’s very food-motivated, which makes training a breeze. She may not be the most playful pup on the block, but if you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion who’s just as happy going on a leisurely outdoor adventure as she is snuggling at your feet for a cozy nap, Penny is your girl.

Story
Meet Calvin!Calvin came to our shelter after being picked up by animal control in a neighboring town and going unclaimed. He is a sweet boy that we are estimating to be around 2 years old and he currently weighs around 45 pounds. While we do believe he could have some Hound in him there is definitely something else mixed in to give him his striking blue eyes and merle coat. Whatever his breed mix is he is definitely a handsome guy! Overall Calvin is very outgoing and seems to do well greeting everyone that stops to say hello to him. He could use some work on his leash manners and basic commands but that will all come in time once in a home with consistent training. Calvin would be the perfect fit for an active family that will take him on adventures to keep his nose and mind busy.Calvin is still new to our shelter and we are still learning about his likes and dislikes. If you are questions about Calvin please feel free to reach out to us or come meet him in person!Calvin's adoption fee is $200, and he is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and will receive monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention while in our care.
