Story
Meet Dante Dante is not a cuddle bug—and she’s okay with that. She’s the kind of dog who needs time, patience, and space to feel safe. It can take months for Dante to become comfortable with new people and her new home, but once she does, she will thrive in the right environment.Important to know:Dante is an escape artist—even at her old age. She has escaped multiple times from her previous home and has even gotten loose while on walks. Because of this, a fully fenced, secure yard is absolutely required, and her adopter must be diligent with doors, gates, and leashes at all times. Dante’s ideal home:--Adult-only household (she prefers women)--No other pets--Fully fenced, secure yard (required)--Calm, low-activity homeSomeone experienced, patient, and willing to let her move at her own paceDante does best in a quiet setting where there isn’t a lot of foot traffic or constant activity. She’s not looking for a busy social life—she’s looking for stability, routine, and understanding. If you’re someone who believes in giving a dog the time she needs to feel safe and doesn’t expect instant affection, Dante may be the perfect companion for you.

Story
Meet Carnita 🐾 Carnita is a sweet, gentle beagle girl with a calm, affectionate nature and a heart full of love. She’s happiest lounging near her people, soaking up pets, and quietly being part of the household routine. True to her easygoing personality, Carnita is friendly with visitors, enjoys gentle play, rides well in the car, and has lived comfortably with both children and a cat. She’s well-mannered, affectionate, and known for getting along with just about everyone she meets Carnita would thrive in a home that appreciates her relaxed, “couch-potato” lifestyle—whether that’s a family household or a quieter home where she can enjoy consistent companionship. She doesn’t enjoy being alone for long periods and is looking for a home where her people are around most of the time to keep her company. A predictable routine, cozy sleeping spots (especially beds!), and a securely fenced yard or calm neighborhood walks would be ideal for her The ideal home for Carnita is one where she can truly be part of the family—close to her people, included in daily life, and given plenty of love and attention. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who brings steady, gentle joy and wants nothing more than to be near you, Carnita could be a wonderful match💖

Story
If you’ve been dreaming of a sweet, snuggly sidekick with just the right amount of cuteness, stop right here. Your new cuddle buddy (and backyard adventure partner) has entered the chat! This very sweet puppy is basically a professional kisser with a minor in cuddling. During her stay, she wanted nothing more than to snuggle close and shower everyone with affection. Her heart? Wide open. Her vibe? Soft, loving, and just waiting for the right owner. But don’t just take our word for it make sure you watch her adoption video to see those sweet kisses and soulful eyes in action! https://youtu.be/i4WCs17yIBA We believe Penny is likely a Beagle mix, and about 19lbs. As with any rescue, breed is always our best educated guess. She’s a great medium size, sturdy enough for backyard adventures, but compact enough to ride shotgun and run errands with. Big personality, bigger heart. Penny’s absolutely a people first kind of girl. At home, her foster says she’s actually a big, playful goofball especially with a smaller dog but at her heart, she’s a loyal little shadow who just wants to be wherever you are. While she can be shy and timid when meeting new people, give her a little time and you’ll see her blossom into the super fun, silly puppy she truly is. She loves playing with dog friends, but nothing makes her happier than hanging out right by her person’s side. She’s a dog friendly girl who communicates clearly and kindly with other pups. She’d be best paired with a respectful, low to medium energy companion who understands good manners and can give her a little space as she settles in. Once she feels comfortable, she relaxes beautifully and her playful, joyful personality truly shines. Penny’s ready to build sweet, lasting doggy friendships. Penny is cat tolerant and showed all the right, respectful signs when she met our house cat. She approached calmly, kept her manners, and handled the introduction beautifully. We would still recommend a little kitty sleepover. Based on what we’ve seen, she’s off to a lovely start. Apartment life is not for this girl she’s a vocal Beagle babe who needs a yard to stretch her legs and sing her little Beagle songs. A home with space to run, sniff, and explore would make her happiest. Bonus: you’ll get endless cuddles and the cutest little hound dog soundtrack. This sweet, affectionate, people loving puppy is ready for her forever home. She’s gentle, playful, once comfortable, and full of love to give. With a little patience, and a lot of heart, she’s going to blossom into the most devoted companion. Think she might be your perfect match? You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Story
If you ever wanted a dog who dances for attention, has the cutest floppy ears, and acts like every human is her favorite human, well congratulations! Your search is officially over because Katniss Everdeen is exactly that. She doesn’t just walk into a room, she makes an entrance. Little paw taps, happy wiggles, and a grin that says she absolutely knows how cute she is. Whether she’s dancing her way into your heart or flashing that perfect smile, Katniss Everdeen’s personality is pure joy wrapped in a tiny, fabulous package. Basically, if happiness had floppy ears and signature dance move, it would be Katniss Everdeen. Watch her video and fall in love with this dancing diva: https://youtu.be/5wgxwQLO5Uo?si=4sBUygiJVB1JvGar Katniss Everdeen is believed to be a Beagle mix approximately 5 years old and currently weighs 16 lbs. She is rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Katniss loves people, has the best personality, and thrives on attention, obviously. She’s the kind of pup who wants to be close. Snuggling, cuddling, and handing out sweet kisses like it’s her full-time career. If you’re looking for a dog who truly bonds with her person, Katniss is your girl. What really sets her apart? Her entertainment factor is elite. She loves to “dance” and uses her paws to politely (and adorably) tap you for attention. She knows exactly how to make everyone laugh, and she expects applause. Katniss does great with dogs, big and small! There is no such thing as “too big” for this girl to make doggy friends with. She is a confident little queen and will be friends with any dog, any size. Katniss loves to play with other dogs, romp around, and wrestle. She does take a moment to warm up with new dogs and isn’t the type that is going to instantly want to play, but give her some time and she’ll be playing in no time. Katiniss also isn’t play 24/7. She loves to explore and do her own thing as well. Katniss would do great with a doggy friend that is her happy medium. Playful when the time presents itself and relaxed when it’s time for a nap. Katniss has also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Katniss is playful, affectionate, funny, and full of love. She’s the kind of dog who makes every day brighter just by being herself and she’s ready to bring that sparkle home for good. We can see her thriving in a home with a backyard, and we also believe she would do beautifully in an apartment or condo. She doesn’t require much exercise, a simple walk around the neighborhood, playtime with her new fur siblings, or time with her human is all she needs. She’s also perfectly happy snuggling on the couch while you binge-watch your favorite show. It doesn’t take much to make her happy. She just wants to be loved, be with her people, and continue being the happy little dancing queen she is. If you’re searching for a small dog with a huge heart, endless charm, and main-character energy, Katniss Everdeen is ready to meet you! We are willing to test Katniss Everdeen with anything you need in order ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
