Dolly is an adult Beagle who needs a loving home. She weighs 22 lbs. so is a petite size and she's a very easy keeper. She's very cuddly and likes kids, dogs, and cats, but will chase chickens. She was picked up for chasing chickens and taken in by local farmers and eventually taken in by the local vet. She's been in a foster home and is gentle with children. Available after 2/10/26. Story
Toby came into our care after retiring from life as a hunting dog. He's about two years old and has never lived indoors before. He is very friendly, playful, and outgoing. He will need someone willing to work with him on house training, which means he will need to be in a crate when unsupervised and taken out every 2 - 3 hours, just like you would with a puppy. He has been clean in his kennel so he should be easy to housebreak. We were told he is used to being around dogs, cats, chickens, and kids. He will be neutered and have his vet care updated on 2/5, and he will be ready to meet potential adopters on 2/7. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our dog adoption application here: http://medfieldshelter.com/adopt. Our adoption fee for dogs ages 7 months to 7 years is $450. Dogs 8 years and up are $250. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both. All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.

Story
Mabel came in with Melody and Mickey. Her Virginia fosters says she's easy-going and has moderate energy. She loves to get her belly rubbed and lay in the sun and be where you are. She's very quiet for a Beagle, walks well on a leash ( does not need long walks), and is doing well wth crate-traning. She does not need another dog, although she’s fine with other dogs around, but has no interest in playing with them yet. Melody is about 4 yrs old and weighs about 20 lbs. Arriving in late February. Story
Mikey is a happy, energetic little beagle who lived in a dreary situation with Melody and Mabel. He's doing great in his foster home and loves doing zoomies and playing with the other dog there. Mikey can be tentative around new people and loud noises, but he's gaining confidence. He's more confident around other dogs than people and would do best with another dog in the home. Mikey is good on the leash and crates well. He's not a big snuggler, but that might come. He does seem to enjoy the company of people, a pat on the head, and being carried. Mikey is about 4 yrs old and weighs about 19 lbs. If you’d like to apply to adopt, please submit an application using the link below.
