Story
Meet Dante Dante is not a cuddle bug—and she’s okay with that. She’s the kind of dog who needs time, patience, and space to feel safe. It can take months for Dante to become comfortable with new people and her new home, but once she does, she will thrive in the right environment.Important to know:Dante is an escape artist—even at her old age. She has escaped multiple times from her previous home and has even gotten loose while on walks. Because of this, a fully fenced, secure yard is absolutely required, and her adopter must be diligent with doors, gates, and leashes at all times. Dante’s ideal home:--Adult-only household (she prefers women)--No other pets--Fully fenced, secure yard (required)--Calm, low-activity homeSomeone experienced, patient, and willing to let her move at her own paceDante does best in a quiet setting where there isn’t a lot of foot traffic or constant activity. She’s not looking for a busy social life—she’s looking for stability, routine, and understanding. If you’re someone who believes in giving a dog the time she needs to feel safe and doesn’t expect instant affection, Dante may be the perfect companion for you.

Story
Jeep is a cute little Beagle/hound mix weighing about 38 lbs and a year old. His caregivers in Virginia report that Jeep is friendly and sweet and just a little bit timid with new things. He does well on a leash, doesn't jump on people, and enjoys attention now that he's settled in a new place. Jeep keeps his kennel clean and has learned to use the doggie door, although he was a little scared at first. Outside, jeep is nose-to-the-ground like most hounds. He's comfortable around other dogs and has not displayed any aggression to other dogs getting close. Jeep will arrive in mid-March. We have a few short videos to share with interested applicants. Story
Melody is a lively, affectionate Beagle. Her foster in Virginia says that she is a joy to have around as she gets comfortable with living in his home and with his Jack Russell. Melody enjoys her walks, does well on leash, and likes to nap in the sun. In a new setting, a structured routine is reassuring for her and will help her settle in. She does enjoy hanging out with another dog but would be okay as an only dog with an attentive owner. Melody likes attention and at times will seek petting and being held. She is largely housebroken if kept on a routine and sleeps well through the night on her dog bed. Melody is about 6 yrs old and weighs about 23 lbs. Arriving in late February. Melody has now arrived in Massachusetts and is ready for visits. Her new foster reports that Melody loves to walk and has enjoyed climbing snowbanks. She is a world class cuddler too. She sleeps through the night in her crate with the door open. She loves to be with people, kids and adults alike. Typical beagle; loves food.
