Meet DanteDante is not the type of dog who will immediately seek out cuddles or attention — and she’s perfectly okay with that. She is a very independent girl who needs time, patience, and space in order to feel safe and comfortable. It can take months for Dante to fully settle into a new home and build trust with new people, but once she does, she can truly thrive in the right environment, and start to show her affectionate side. One of the most important things to know about Dante is that she is an experienced escape artist, even at her older age. She has escaped from previous homes and has also managed to get loose while out on walks. Because of this, a fully fenced and secure yard is absolutely required, and her adopter must always be extremely diligent with doors, gates, harnesses, and leashes. Dante is not searching for a busy social life or a constantly active environment. What she truly wants is stability, routine, and a home where she can feel secure. For the right person, helping Dante learn to trust and watching her grow comfortable can be an incredibly rewarding experience.

I'm Waylon, a 7-year-old Beagle/Blue Tick hound seeking a new home. I'm a very laid back, chill boy! I love men and women equally and have lived with cats and dogs. I'm fine in playgroups and on walks. I slept in the bed with my human. I like to hang out on the sofa with you, love car rides and I jump in the car easily. I'm good in the car, calmly sit in the back seat. I love to go for a nice sniff walk. I do not like to be crated, please. I'm totally house-trained and an easy keeper. I'M ALSO GREAT WITH CATS! I went to the beach with my foster family and I did great. I went into the water a few times, wasn't afraid of the waves. Not a fan of rain, though. The fireworks didn't bother me. Meet Tater - he's a sweet little lemon and white Beagle, about 2 yrs old and weighing about 25 lbs. Tater is a little tentative in new situations, but he warms up and interacts well with new people. Tater loves the company of other dogs and also did well on the cat test. He'll arrive in Massachusetts in late July. Elmer is a sweet little Beagle that turned up stray and ended up in a county shelter in central Virginia. He's friendly and loves attention from new people. He did well with a much-needed bath and is looking healthy and happy again. Elmer is about 5 yrs ld and a smaller Beagle at aout 23 lbs. He'll be making the trip to Massachusetts in mid-June.
