Story
Laura is a sweet female Beagle who was picked up with Nelly and Mary, two other Beagles. All are in the 20-pound range and will be available after 8/17/26. These three beautiful Beagle girls were wandering around in rural countryside. They wandered upon the wrong person’s house and he said he was going to shoot them if they kept coming around. Obviously, we couldn’t let that happen, so the rescue went to go pick them up. These hunting dogs are ready for some Air Conditioning and a life where they can take it easy, sniff around the house and yard, practice leash skills, and finally be a part of a family. They are shy girls who are learning to trust. They would do best in a quiet environment with a fenced-in yard and another dog to show them the ropes of being a cherished family pet! Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp, and the adoption team will get right back to you.

Story
Meet DanteDante is not the type of dog who will immediately seek out cuddles or attention — and she’s perfectly okay with that. She is a very independent girl who needs time, patience, and space in order to feel safe and comfortable. It can take months for Dante to fully settle into a new home and build trust with new people, but once she does, she can truly thrive in the right environment, and start to show her affectionate side. One of the most important things to know about Dante is that she is an experienced escape artist, even at her older age. She has escaped from previous homes and has also managed to get loose while out on walks. Because of this, a fully fenced and secure yard is absolutely required, and her adopter must always be extremely diligent with doors, gates, harnesses, and leashes. Dante is not searching for a busy social life or a constantly active environment. What she truly wants is stability, routine, and a home where she can feel secure. For the right person, helping Dante learn to trust and watching her grow comfortable can be an incredibly rewarding experience.

Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Dollie! She is approximately 1 year old, 32 lbs currently and she may have some Beagle in her mix! She was found as a stray. In her foster home, she is doing great with her house training, crate training and leash walking. She could join households with kids, and other dogs. She has not been exposed to cats. Her foster says, `Hello, Dollie!!! Everyone needs a Dollie in their life. She is a perfect little low riding sweetheart. She absolutely loves people, dogs, food, car rides, toys and most of all loves and cuddles. She is a young girl who is ready for her forever family. Unlike most hound dogs, Dollie hasn’t quite found her voice yet. She’s a quiet girl with a heart as big as Texas. Her favorite pastime is playing with her foster siblings but she enjoys couch snuggles and giving sweet nose boops. She is adored in her current foster home. Her future family will hit the gold mine with this gorgeous girl.`She is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on September 11th or possibly earlier.
