Story
Lottie is a dream boat in every sense, all wiggle booty, soft eyes, and a sweet little love-lean that immediately makes you feel like you would move mountains to make her happy. This girl literally arrived speaking “best friend,” and had a whole crew of people fawning over her every move. That is some powerful magic. Everything about her says gentle, affectionate, and an absolute joy to be around. Want to see Lottie’s wiggle-booty charm in motion? Head to YouTube https://youtu.be/JPvzwyzn_mY Lottie is estimated to be just over 3 years old, she weighs a cool 42 lbs, and is maybe a beagle/pug/american bully? Gosh if it isn’t the cutest mystery mix though. If you still somehow need convincing that she is “the one,” here you go. Let’s talk about all her other awesome qualities. On leash she’s a sweet sidekick who adjusts beautifully to guidance, and naturally sticks close to her person. It feels natural from the first step, like “Alright, we’re doing life together now.” With dogs Lottie is just as sweet. She greets new dogs with a friendly, welcoming energy and if you happen to be standing behind her for this you will get the cutest wiggle-wag-booty-action! Its somehow a helicopter tail and a full booty bounce at the same time. With the rest of the dogs she was quite submissive and polite, and she reads the room well. With slow, thoughtful introductions, she should do well with dog friends and seems like a middle-of-the-pack pup who will happily “get in where she fits in” without needing to run the show. In the kennel, Lottie is an absolute star. She is both house and crate trained and walks right in and settles with no fuss. Just the same, once we came inside, she settled beautifully and showed us that she has a naturally low-energy. Couch potato vibes for sure! She was ready to lay down and nap within 5 minutes and she gives off strong “apartment-friendly” vibes. Small-ish, quiet, great leash manners, and sweet as a button. Cats were a “maybe” in a way that feels promising. At first she wasn’t overly interested, respectfully curious and are happy to arrange a sleepover with our Kitty Committee to confirm what that curiosity turns into once she’s fully settled. And one more detail that pretty much melted our hearts on contact, the day she came to spend the afternoon with us she rode in the car on her best-buddies lap in the backseat, the whole way.. Her best buddie is a sweet little boy just under the age of 10. As if she wasn’t already a full dream, she shows us her tender nature with kids to really solidify that. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, low-key little lovebug who walks nicely, settles easily, and will happily become your quiet companion with a wagging tail and a leaning heart… Lottie is ready and waiting but we know she will not be waiting long. If you are interested do not let her get away! Apply today! The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. Story
Meet Butterscotch Pie💛a perfectly squatty, slightly chunky little potato with the most incredible wrinkles you’ve ever seen. Seriously… forehead wrinkles, body wrinkles, all-the-time wrinkles. Add in her beautiful green eyes, adorable little white socks, and her golden glow, and you’ve got a total heart-stealer. She’s about 3 years old, and our best guess is a beagle/lab mix, but what we know for sure is that she’s 100% perfect. Butterscotch is a people girl through and through. She opens up quickly with new friends and is overflowing with affection. She loves being right next to her humans and is a bit of a Velcro dog, following you around, settling close by, and soaking up every bit of love you’re willing to give. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite activity (she will dramatically plop right over for them), and booty scratches are a close second! She arches her back and leans into them like a pro. She’s also happy to jump up for affection and will gladly tolerate being scooped up when needed. Watch Butterscotch Pie’s video here to see her belly and booty get all the scratches! https://youtu.be/NniJiyLua5E?si=47eE1EB3aa7_FlzA On leash, Butterscotch is a pretty easy walk. She’s responsive, checks in quickly, and doesn’t need much guidance, just gentle handling and calm movements, as she can flinch with sudden leash motions. She’s eager to please and enjoys going out with her people. With dogs, Butterscotch is currently more polite than playful. She can be a bit insecure at first, especially with higher-energy or pushy dogs, but she communicates clearly and appropriately when she needs space. She’s done best with calmer, respectful dogs and would be happiest with a low to medium-energy dog sibling who matches her vibe. With time and confidence, she may become more playful, but right now she prefers relaxed companionship and roaming together over roughhousing. Cats are a no for Butterscotch — they’re just a little too interesting for her. Butterscotch absolutely nailed her kid test! She was incredibly calm, gentle, and loving with the kiddos—showering them with sweet face kisses, happily sitting in their laps, and soaking up every bit of attention. Her favorite move? Flopping right over for belly rubs any chance she got and very politely demanding more the second you stopped. She was relaxed, affectionate, and completely comfortable, showing just how much she enjoys being around children. With her sweet nature and family-friendly heart, Butterscotch would make an amazing family dog who’s ready to love her people with her whole soul. Butterscotch would do well in either a house with a yard or an apartment. She may need a short adjustment period to fully settle in, but once she does, she blossoms into a loving, loyal little shadow who wants nothing more than to be near her people. If you’re looking for a wrinkly, cuddly, booty-scratch-loving best friend who will stick by your side and fill your days with sweetness, Butterscotch is ready to wiggle her way right into your heart! ❤️ Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Say hello to Shortcake 🍰 a short, stout, slightly chunky hunk of love with tiny legs, a big heart, and enough personality to fill a whole bakery. About 2 years old and likely a beagle mix, Shortcake is serving up sweetness, silliness, and nonstop affection. With her beautiful green eyes, adorable brown spots (even on her tummy!), and her perfectly squishy build, she’s impossible not to fall in love with. Shortcake is a total people dog. She adores her humans and shows it by climbing into laps, wrapping herself around you for hugs, and delivering enthusiastic face kisses. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite! She has the spot on her tummy that makes her little leg kick every time, and she will happily demand repeat performances. If you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, Shortcake is a professional. Watch Shortcake’s personality shine in her video! https://youtu.be/16035emG6XM?si=cpHD6uZt8jl46WTU She does very well with other dogs and was excited to meet everyone. Shortcake enjoys playful interactions but also knows when to take breaks and prefers dog friends who aren’t too intense or in her face. She would do best with a medium-energy dog sibling who respects her space and play style. She may need a little time to decompress in a new home before fully diving into play, but once she’s comfortable, she’s happy to join in. Shortcake loves to explore and follow her nose, which means leash manners are still a work in progress. Apartments aren’t out of the question for her, her future family would just need to be committed to continuing her leash training and helping her build better engagement on walks. A home with a yard would be a bonus, but not a requirement with the right dedication. Cats are a definite no for Shortcake! They’re just way too interesting. Shortcake did amazing during her kid test! She is very affectionate and loves being close to kiddos, often getting right up in their space for hugs, pets, and attention. Because of that, kids should be able to set gentle boundaries if she’s being a little too loving—but she is incredibly tolerant of handling and clearly adores affection, especially from children. She stayed happy, calm, and unbothered even during a full-on kiddo meltdown, showing just how patient and resilient she is. Sweet, fun, and full of love, Shortcake would make an amazing family dog in a home ready for her joyful, affectionate personality. 💕 Overall, Shortcake is a chunky little short stack of love who brings joy, cuddles, and goofy charm wherever she goes. She’s sweet, snuggly, and ready to give her whole heart to a family who will adore her as much as she adores them — belly rubs included, of course. 💕 Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
If you’ve ever wished for a dog who is truly low-maintenance, quietly loving, and just happy to be near you, Nina Lou is the one. Watch her video and fall in love with her gentle sweet soul: https://youtu.be/yU9eroOy9pY?si=odCj-psQtE1KM6R_ Nina Lou is believed to be a Beagle mix and with those ears, she may even have a little hint of Chihuahua sprinkled in. Whatever her breed may up is, she is absolutely adorable! Nina is approximately 6 years old and currently weighs 33 lbs. She’s an older girl with the perfect size, not too big, not too small, just the right fit for a home where she can be loved and adored. Nina is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Nina is gentle, calm, and incredibly well-mannered. She’s the kind of dog who will quietly sit beside you, soaking in your presence, and giving you that peaceful, “I’m here for you” kind of love. Nina enjoys spending time outside to do her business, but she’s always ready to come back inside the moment her people call. she wants to be where her humans are. She’s also a great companion for someone who wants a dog who can thrive in either an apartment or a home with a backyard. She’s low-energy enough to be comfortable in smaller spaces, but she also loves a yard to quietly explore, sniff around, and enjoy the outdoors. Nina is currently fostered in a home with five other large dogs, and she gets along great with all of them. She’s not super playful or rowdy, she’s more of the calm observer type. She loves to roam the yard, explore quietly, and watch the other dogs play from a distance. She’s the perfect “big sister” who doesn’t need to be the center of attention. She also loves snuggling up with her foster siblings on the dog bed. She’s a true cuddle buddy and enjoys being close to her pals. Nina would do best in a home with a dog that has the same tempo as her. Cool, calm, collected, not looking for a playmate, but looking for a snuggly friend. If you don’t have other dogs, that’s totally fine by Nina. She will gladly be the center of your attention and the princess of your household. Nina enjoys car rides and is a calm, relaxed passenger. Story
❤️RIVER❤️ Where are my senior lovers! I have the boy for you. river is so sweet and cuddly. He’s great with my dogs and my cat. since he’s a beagle he definitely has that hound nose loves to sniff everything but also like a typical beagle he is sweet and loving. River seems to be housebroken. No accidents in the house so far. He likes to be outside even though it’s chilly. River is 10 years old and approximately 20 pounds. He’s currently under weight but I will be working on that. River is being fostered in Lake Ariel, PA. If you think river is the boy for you get your application in at Www.mountainrottierescue.net
