Cassie, a beagle mix, is one of over forty dogs rescued from a hoarding case in El Paso, AR. Despite entering our program as a shy girl, she has made great strides in just the last couple of months.  Cassie is very sweet and affectionate. She gravitate more towards women and likes children. She is a great couch potato in the house loves to lay around and cuddle…get her outside and she will run the yard like a greyhound!   She is doing really well…kennel trained, probably 90% potty trained we haven’t had an accident in like a week!  She gets along great with all the other dogs.  Cassie‘s a medium sized dog at under 30 pounds. Great size for an apartment or small house living. Local adoption fee for Cassie is $175. Spotlight has been with our family his whole life. He is 14 and does not act his age. Despite being 14 he acts like a puppy most of the time. He is a high energy dog. He would do really well living his final years with someone who can give him attention.

Meet DanteDante is not the type of dog who will immediately seek out cuddles or attention — and she’s perfectly okay with that. She is a very independent girl who needs time, patience, and space in order to feel safe and comfortable. It can take months for Dante to fully settle into a new home and build trust with new people, but once she does, she can truly thrive in the right environment.One of the most important things to know about Dante is that she is an experienced escape artist, even at her older age. She has escaped from previous homes and has also managed to get loose while out on walks. Because of this, a fully fenced and secure yard is absolutely required, and her adopter must always be extremely diligent with doors, gates, harnesses, and leashes. Dante is not searching for a busy social life or a constantly active environment. What she truly wants is stability, routine, and a home where she can feel secure. For the right person, helping Dante learn to trust and watching her grow comfortable can be an incredibly rewarding experience.

Meet Butterscotch Pie💛a perfectly squatty, slightly chunky little potato with the most incredible wrinkles you’ve ever seen. Seriously… forehead wrinkles, body wrinkles, all-the-time wrinkles. Add in her beautiful green eyes, adorable little white socks, and her golden glow, and you’ve got a total heart-stealer. She’s about 3 years old, and our best guess is a beagle/lab mix, but what we know for sure is that she’s 100% perfect. Butterscotch is a people girl through and through. She opens up quickly with new friends and is overflowing with affection. She loves being right next to her humans and is a bit of a Velcro dog, following you around, settling close by, and soaking up every bit of love you’re willing to give. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite activity (she will dramatically plop right over for them), and booty scratches are a close second! She arches her back and leans into them like a pro. She’s also happy to jump up for affection and will gladly tolerate being scooped up when needed. She’s responsive, checks in quickly, and doesn’t need much guidance, just gentle handling and calm movements, as she can flinch with sudden leash motions. She’s eager to please and enjoys going out with her people. With dogs, Butterscotch is currently more polite than playful. She can be a bit insecure at first, especially with higher-energy or pushy dogs, but she communicates clearly and appropriately when she needs space. She’s done best with calmer, respectful dogs and would be happiest with a low to medium-energy dog sibling who matches her vibe. With time and confidence, she may become more playful, but right now she prefers relaxed companionship and roaming together over roughhousing. Cats are a no for Butterscotch — they’re just a little too interesting for her. Butterscotch absolutely nailed her kid test! She was incredibly calm, gentle, and loving with the kiddos—showering them with sweet face kisses, happily sitting in their laps, and soaking up every bit of attention. Her favorite move? Flopping right over for belly rubs any chance she got and very politely demanding more the second you stopped. She was relaxed, affectionate, and completely comfortable, showing just how much she enjoys being around children. With her sweet nature and family-friendly heart, Butterscotch would make an amazing family dog who’s ready to love her people with her whole soul. Butterscotch would do well in either a house with a yard or an apartment. She may need a short adjustment period to fully settle in, but once she does, she blossoms into a loving, loyal little shadow who wants nothing more than to be near her people. Rum and Tequila are 2 gorgeous mixes that weigh approximately 35 lbs each and are approximately 1 year old. While we do not know their exact breed, they are full grown at 35 lbs – We believe they could be a mix of pointer, heeler, beagle and maybe dalmatian. These 2 girls are NOT bonded, but they were found together and well… you can just look at their spots and see how similar they look! Rum and Tequila were found with their mom and another sibling. The mom and brother have since been adopted, but the finder originally wanted to keep these 2 girls but can no longer. They were found behind a liquor store when they were only 8 weeks old. The clerk had made a small shelter behind the store out of liquor boxes, hence how they got their names. This is their first time being listed for adoption, so they finally have a chance to find their forever home. Both girls are very similar in personality (and looks!) They both LOVE children and would be fantastic in a home with all age children. Tequila has been sleeping in by the side of the bed of the foster’s children and just loves it. Rum and Tequila love other dogs and would thrive in a home with or without them. They are not overconfident, but they are not scared either. Rum and Tequila are the perfect middle ground of just going with the flow. They have met all size dogs and no issues. Both dogs have been introduced to cats and just ignore them. They show no prey drive therefore we believe they can live happily with cats with proper introductions. Rum and Tequila are crate trained and house trained. They know how to walk on a leash, and they both do well on it! They ride in the car with no issues and would be great as adventure buddies! The only difference the foster does point out is Tequila is calmer but still loves her play time. Rum is more active and playful and would be better suited in a more active home while Tequila would be fine for a calmer home/medium active home. These dogs might as well be perfect. They are sweet, friendly, loving, playful, gentle, kind and they love all animals and all people they meet. They are super smart and would make the perfect addition to the perfect home. Rum and Tequila are spayed, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on dewormer and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport.
