Story
Chico is a one year old beagle/chihuahua mix who is a spunky, friendly & social fella who enjoys sniffing, solicits interactions, and is both playful and social as well as relaxed when it's time for down time. At one year, he's ready for fun and learning with positive reinforcement and happy experiences. OTHER PETS: Chico was relaxed and social with another smaller sized dog. He did a good job reading body language and interacting politely. A meet n' greet is required to put him on the right path with a new family and may really enjoy the company of another relaxed, playful friend. (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: [First Dog] Experience with positive reinforcement or willingness to learn. Some dogs follow their nose more than others, supervised time outside will be ideal, and the ability to recognize early signs of resource guarding would be helpful to help him learn that all good things come from his people. GROOMING: [Minimal] KIDS: Chico would likely do best with older, respectful kids who know how to give him space, especially when food and toys are in the mix. Chico has shown signs of mild resource-guarding while at TJO and should be given space during mealtime to keep everyone safe such as a crate or gated room. 'Trading up,' offering a toy of equal or higher value, will help Chico learn he won't lose things that are important to him, and will help build his confidence around prized items. Chico should meet all family members prior to adoption. [13+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL:Chico would enjoy leashed walks, exploring a fenced yard with supervision, as well as a combination of regular exercise and plenty of mental enrichment such as games, puzzles, and new tricks to meet his needs and keep his mind active. [Active Buddy] VETERINARY CARE: [Average] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Peluche bond with his new owner and build self-confidence while learning new skills and fun tricks. Positive reinforcement is a great way to keep his mind engaged and active to fully meet his needs. [Average]May 2, 2026, 5:48 pm

Story
🐶 Hi! I’m Copper! 🧡I’m a playful, curious puppy who was found roaming the Mississippi fields with my best buddy Pistachio 🌾🐾. We were having the time of our lives—romping, playing, and getting into all kinds of puppy mischief 😄. But my rescue friends knew that as cute as that life looked, it wouldn’t be safe or fair for us as we grow up… so here I am, ready for my next big adventure—a forever home! 🏡✨I’m a total goofball and LOVE having fun with my friends 🤪🐕. Mischief? Oh yes… I dabble in that! LOL. I’m still a baby, which means I need consistent training, lots of socializing, and plenty of playtime to help me grow into the amazing dog I’m meant to be 🧠💪.⏰ Because I’m still learning the ropes, my future family can’t leave me alone for more than 3 hours a day. I’m currently eating 3 meals a day 🍽️ and need frequent potty breaks 🚪🌳—puppy life is BUSY!🎓 Training classes are required for me. Puppies may be cute (okay, I’m VERY cute 😇), but I also come with responsibility. Sometimes humans fall in love with the looks and forget the work—and that’s how puppies miss out on proper training and social skills. That wouldn’t be fair to me at all 💔.My rescue is committed to helping puppies succeed—not fail 💯. That means my new family must be 1000% on board to put in the time, patience, and love needed to help me become a confident, happy, well‑adjusted dog 🐕❤️.If you’re ready for the commitment, the work, the laughs, the messes, and ALL the love—I promise I’ll give you my whole heart 🥰🐾.📝 Apply today for me, Copper! I’m a loving boy with so much potential, just waiting for the right family to help me shine 🌟💛If interested in Copper, please apply online: ADOPTION APPLICATION or email us at Info.FetchingHeartsRescue@gmail.com.Unless otherwise indicated, all dogs adopted through Fetching Hearts have received the following before being available for adoption:Thorough veterinary examination. All routine annual vaccinations, includingRabies, DHLPPBordetella (Kennel Cough)Heartworm TestFecal Test, DewormingMicrochipFlea and Tick PreventionHeartworm Prevention.Spay/NeuterAll dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.VETTING NOTE: Fetching Hearts Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. If anything is brought to our attention, we treat the dog. After adopting the dog, you will be responsible for following up with all vetting going forward.HEARTWORM NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. Story
Meet Butterscotch Pie💛a perfectly squatty, slightly chunky little potato with the most incredible wrinkles you’ve ever seen. Seriously… forehead wrinkles, body wrinkles, all-the-time wrinkles. Add in her beautiful green eyes, adorable little white socks, and her golden glow, and you’ve got a total heart-stealer. She’s about 3 years old, and our best guess is a beagle/lab mix, but what we know for sure is that she’s 100% perfect. Butterscotch is a people girl through and through. She opens up quickly with new friends and is overflowing with affection. She loves being right next to her humans and is a bit of a Velcro dog, following you around, settling close by, and soaking up every bit of love you’re willing to give. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite activity (she will dramatically plop right over for them), and booty scratches are a close second! She arches her back and leans into them like a pro. She’s also happy to jump up for affection and will gladly tolerate being scooped up when needed. Watch Butterscotch Pie’s video here to see her belly and booty get all the scratches! https://youtu.be/NniJiyLua5E?si=47eE1EB3aa7_FlzA On leash, Butterscotch is a pretty easy walk. She’s responsive, checks in quickly, and doesn’t need much guidance, just gentle handling and calm movements, as she can flinch with sudden leash motions. She’s eager to please and enjoys going out with her people. With dogs, Butterscotch is currently more polite than playful. She can be a bit insecure at first, especially with higher-energy or pushy dogs, but she communicates clearly and appropriately when she needs space. She’s done best with calmer, respectful dogs and would be happiest with a low to medium-energy dog sibling who matches her vibe. With time and confidence, she may become more playful, but right now she prefers relaxed companionship and roaming together over roughhousing. Cats are a no for Butterscotch — they’re just a little too interesting for her. Butterscotch absolutely nailed her kid test! She was incredibly calm, gentle, and loving with the kiddos—showering them with sweet face kisses, happily sitting in their laps, and soaking up every bit of attention. Her favorite move? Flopping right over for belly rubs any chance she got and very politely demanding more the second you stopped. She was relaxed, affectionate, and completely comfortable, showing just how much she enjoys being around children. With her sweet nature and family-friendly heart, Butterscotch would make an amazing family dog who’s ready to love her people with her whole soul. Butterscotch would do well in either a house with a yard or an apartment. She may need a short adjustment period to fully settle in, but once she does, she blossoms into a loving, loyal little shadow who wants nothing more than to be near her people. If you’re looking for a wrinkly, cuddly, booty-scratch-loving best friend who will stick by your side and fill your days with sweetness, Butterscotch is ready to wiggle her way right into your heart! ❤️ Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. If you’re looking for a photogenic, calm, quiet, sweet, happy dog, Bruce is your guy! The longer he’s in foster, the longer he takes up a spot for others in need, so let's find him a home! We have tons more pictures and videos of him, feel free to email us and we'll send them to you. This boy is as SWEET as they come. He loves people. Loves to be pet and to snuggle. He really enjoys the recliner, whether there’s a person to cuddle or not! He is not high energy and has not been vocal like some hounds are. He really only barks when he plays with my dogs. He is my shadow around the house but when I’m gone to work he is crated and sleeps all day. Enjoys some play time with my dogs but nothing too crazy. He’s a pretty easy going guy. Very friendly and lovable Good with other dogs Rides well in the car and enjoys adventures! Loves to go for walks but needs some work on his leash manners. Crate trained, house trained (a couple accidents here and there if you don’t see him asking for the door) Loves food and if he was just a little taller, he’d snag that sandwich you left on the counter He should go to a home with a fenced yard!! Best guess is 3-5 years old. He weighs about 35 -40 pounds. He needs to work on basic commands (sit, down etc). He has not been around cats. He has met a few kids and was fine. He was found as a stray with another Beagle, now named Frank (also available). We believe they were dumped! They are NOT bonded and not fostered together. He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. In New England  Autumn——Sweet sweet girl.   If you’re looking for an in your pocket kinda girl look no further.    She loves to be with her humans probably even more than her love of food!  (And that is a lot ) Loves to take walks and use her beagle senses , does very well on a leash .   But her nose does require her to have a fenced in yard.  Gets along great with other dogs, cats and even bunnies.   She does great with kids but probably best with older kids only because she will probably steal the littles snacks (never in a mean way)  She has gained so much confidence and only looks for guidance and support.   She loves being a good girl and looks for ways to please any way she can.  She would highly benefit from having another dog in the home to help with her confidence and to help her feel secure. She’s about 4 years old. Housebroken , knows how to sit and is the best lap warmer you could ask for!  Fully vetted. In New England.
