Our family adopted, Sebastian, Sebby, April 2021, When he was roughly 10 weeks old and our boys were just 2 1/2 and newly four-year-olds at the time. He is now 3, and our boys are nearly 6 and 7 1/2 y/os. It was (and still is) a whole lot of energy in the house, and sadly that is why we have to adopt him out. Sebby is a love bug, he snuggles, begs for pets, enjoys a sniffing walk, his default is to sit and wait for you and what you want. He’s a great “picker upper” if you drop cheese, fruit or popcorn, and chases ice cubes. Sadly we are finding the energy in our home is not one he is handling well, nor is it fair to him. We are seeing a lack of boundary respect (mostly from one who has a sensory need that overstimulates the pup), and are afraid that someone will get hurt and don’t want that to happen. It breaks our hearts to do this, but we need to protect our family (human & pup). We feel that he’d do best in a family with older kids who understand boundaries or empty nesters.

Story
Roux is a sweet 5-6 year old beagle mix that has lived with us for about 2.5 years. He is very friendly with humans and other animals, loves to lay in the sun, loves kids, going on walks, big time sniffer! Unfortunately our jobs require lots of traveling and we don’t have the time to give him the attention he deserves. He has separation anxiety and would need a human that can take good care of him. He might do well in a home with another dog. He has never attacked another animal or human. We love him deeply but are unable to give him the attention he needs and deserves at the moment and we would love to find him a loving new family that can hang out and play with him as much as possible.

Are you ready to welcome the chubbiest, most lovable furball into your life? I'm Chubbs, and I'm all about the snacks! I'll do just about anything for a tasty treat, and I'm always up for a snack negotiation. But don't worry, I know how to balance it out with some extra strolls around the block (or two) to keep my figure in check! Besides snacks, I absolutely love kids and cuddles. Family movie nights are my favorite—I'll cozy up with you and the kiddos, sharing some popcorn (just a little, I promise!). I'm the perfect buddy for snuggles and playtime, making every moment together extra special. I have met some other dogs in the past and have been content to hang out with another pup, but I’m not too keen on contact sports or rough play—I'd much rather chill and enjoy a tasty snack! Also, I can be a bit vocal at times when I play or when I get a little overly excited, I am a Beagle after all. And here’s the icing on the cake (or should I say, the frosting on the pupcake?): I’m the sweetest boy around! Meet Cory! Meet Cory! This sweet and social 7-year-old dog loves to explore and sniff around. An adventurer at heart, Cory is always curious about the world. Though he can be shy at first, he quickly warms up and shows his affectionate side. Cory has had good interactions with older children. He hasn't interacted much with other dogs, so a meet and greet is recommended. Cory is looking for a loving forever home where he can continue his adventures and soak up all the love he deserves.   Personality: Friendly, calm, Sweet Leash Manners: Does well on leash other than some occasional pulling. Favorite Activities: Sniffing and exploring on walks, getting pets and attention from his humans. Training: Has shown signs he may potty trained as he whines when he needs to go outside.   Volunteer Notes: “Excellent walker, loves to explore.” “Very calm and sweet.” “Very cute and is very good on the leash.”  “Such a sweet boy, very gentle” “Great walker, seemed interested in other dogs, didn’t bark once!”   *Just a heads up, the way dogs behave here at the shelter might not be exactly how they act in a home environment.
