Story
Rollie was surrendered after his owner died. He had never lived inside until he came into rescue. He is now house and crate trained. He does love to run and play and hide his bones outside. He had very little socialization with other dogs and is a little dog selective (prefers females more than males). He's more of a loner than most. He has always been crated inside to avoid the mischief a beagle tends to get into with chewing items he isn't supposed to be chewing. It is more for his safety of not swallowing anything harmful. He will bark to let you know when he needs to go potty. He has been completely vetted. He deserves a home of his own to retire in and enjoy the rest of his life. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please email us for the link to the adoption application.

Story
KYRA 2 years LYRA 1 year Attributes Bonded pair Dog friendly Adult-only home Not best for apartments Housetrained Need a fenced yard Kyra and Lyra are a beautiful, young, bonded pair of small girls who are ready to find a loving home together. They came from a breeder situation and are now discovering how wonderful life in a home can be. With each passing day in their foster home, they continue to grow in confidence and show just how special they are. These two are inseparable and share a sweet, devoted bond—they truly do everything together. Kyra, about 2 years old, is the more confident of the pair. Whether it’s heading outside or settling in for bedtime, she helps show Lyra the way. Kyra is curious and gently explores her surroundings, and once she feels comfortable, she enjoys back scratches, belly rubs, treats, and even following her foster family around. She loves cozy spots—whether that’s by your feet, on the couch, or snuggled up with a dog friend. Lyra, around 1½ years old, is a thoughtful and observant girl who still requires encouragement from Kyra and other dogs. While she is reserved, she is clearly interested in connecting and has already made progress—taking treats by hand and choosing to rest near her foster mom. With time and patience, her sweet personality will continue to shine through. Both girls have made good strides since arriving in foster care. They are learning to relax, enjoy a predictable routine, and feel safe in their environment. Because of this, they would do best in a home in a quiet suburban or rural neighborhood – apartment living and the hustle and bustle of city life is not for them! They would prefer an adult-only home, but a quiet home with calm, older children might also be a viable option. Car rides are not on their list of favorite things to do, but hopefully over time they will learn that car rides can lead to fun. They love having cozy spaces to unwind and will happily play, run, and wrestle together when they think no one is watching! Their playful side really comes out with each other and with other friendly dogs. Kyra and Lyra are housetrained with only occasional accidents and do best with regular outdoor access, so a fenced yard will help them continue to succeed. They haven’t yet learned leash walking but are making progress every day in building trust and confidence. These gentle, loving girls are looking for a patient and understanding home that will continue to nurture their growth. In return, they will offer a special bond—not only with each other, but with the lucky family who gives them the chance to fully blossom into the happy, loving companions they are meant to be. NOTE: Dogs may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
PEANUT 6 years Attributes Dog friendly Crate trained Housetrained Requires another dog Requires a fence Medium energy Snuggly Potties on leash Good in cars This cute little nugget is Peanut, who is 6 years old and weighs 23 pounds. He’s a calm, medium-energy dog who is the perfect size to snuggle on your lap, which is one of his favorite things to do. When he’s not busy being a snuggle bug, Peanut enjoys snoozing in a comfy chair with his teddy bear or playing with the other dogs in his foster home. A home with a fenced-in yard and another dog to play with would be Peanut’s idea of heaven. When it’s time to go for a walk, Peanut sits like a perfect gentleman as he waits to be leashed up. He appears to have been trained to walk very calmly to the right side of the person walking him, which makes walkies with Peanut a breeze! He is very sweet and outgoing, and he enjoys meeting new people. He gets along very well with the other dogs in his foster home, but we don’t know how he does with cats and children. Peanut rides well in the car – he curls up in a dog bed in the back seat and goes to sleep. He’s crate trained and is almost housebroken with only the occasional accident. When his foster family goes out, he has the run of the house with the other dogs in the home. Peanut is known for finding things to chew on, so his new family will need to make sure he has appropriate items to satisfy his craving to chew. If you’re looking for a sweet, friendly, affectionate addition to your family, Peanut just might be the perfect fit! NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
Meet Billy — the sweetest snuggle buddy you could ask for! This lovable beagle mix is already a total gentleman: housebroken, dog friendly, cat friendly, and perfectly content sleeping through the night. Billy’s favorite place is wherever his humans are, whether he’s following you from room to room or curled up beside you on the couch (or better yet, in bed!). Billy would thrive in a home that embraces his affectionate side and gives him plenty of time to cuddle. He also loves exploring outdoors and zooming around the yard, so a securely fenced backyard is key for this curious hound. He’s mostly crate-trained and happily eats his meals in his crate, which he sees as his safe space, though he currently does great free-roaming when left alone. Like any true beagle, Billy has a strong nose and a healthy interest in squirrels and bunnies! He’s still gaining confidence with car rides and may need a little encouragement getting in. Billy does best with older children, as younger kids can make him nervous at first, causing him to bark when startled — but he shows no aggression and warms up with patient introductions, especially outdoors. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Billy may just be your perfect match.

Story
SHEILA 2 – 3 years Attributes Adult-Only Home Preferred Will potty on leash Crate Trained Does not Like Car Rides Not good with Cats Dog Friendly Working on House Training Medium Energy Playful Not best for Apartments Hi Everyone, My name is Sheila. I am a stunning 15-inch blue tick beagle, and under three years old (DOB 07-26-23). I had a family that included other dogs. Unfortunately, we needed new homes because of our owners’ ages and health issues. I am a good girl – friendly with other dogs, docile, loving and well socialized. I was an outdoor dog, so I am working on potty training and adjusting to the “newness” of being inside a home. I really enjoy being in a home, and I have not destroyed anything other than some dents in the dog toys! My foster parents said my energy level is medium, but it can be medium-high as times (more on that in a bit). My previous owners trained me for trail runs, but I have officially started my retirement from those activities. Because of my trail run experience, I have a very strong hunt drive, this is where my energy level moves to medium-high. Although I am approximately 36 lbs., do not let that fool you into thinking I need a diet - I am slim, it is all muscle! My foster parents are using “clicker” training to help me break my focus on scents when I am outside. It is in-progress training, but I am improving. I will not do well in a home with cats or smaller animals such as guinea pigs. Note from the foster home: Sheila is an extremely sweet, loving and funny foster dog. She is VERY smart. She loves to “hug” us with her front legs. Her transition into a home is going much quicker than expected. She is good with our resident beagle, but her playing patterns can be a little too much for our resident - Emma is significantly smaller than Sheila. Sheila has been good at interacting with older children in the neighborhood. We do not have a fenced yard, but she potties on a leash. Any leashed activities need to be handled by adults only. She is fully crate trained. Color about fence experience was provided by previous owners – she could climb the fenced-in recreational area with or without the assistance of the surrounding trees. Sheila is still adjusting to being in a car – it upsets her stomach, but anti-nausea medication helps. She will do well in a patient home while she continues to transition into trail run retirement. We recommend an adult only home (she has an entire repertoire of loud noises that would not be conducive for an apartment or townhouse). NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
