Story
GOLDIE 2 – 3 years Attributes: Crate trained Housetrained Playful Single dog home Requires a fence Fence jumper Adult home only preferred Will potty on leash Good in car Medium energy Snuggly Meet Goldie! 🐾 Goldie is a 2–3-year-old, 35-pound Beagle mix (with a little Boxer flair!) who’s full of personality, affection, and charm. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who loves being close to her people, Goldie might just be your perfect match. This sweet girl is incredibly people-friendly and thrives on attention. She’s happiest when she’s curled up beside you, soaking in chin and belly scratches—or better yet, snuggled up in bed for a cozy night’s sleep. Goldie truly loves her humans and forms strong bonds. Goldie has a medium energy level and knows some basic commands like “come,” “sit,” and “leave it.” She’s both house-trained and crate-trained, and will even go into her crate on her own to relax. Like many dogs, she may whine or bark a bit when first left alone, but she settles in with time. Goldie does have a playful, mischievous side—she can’t resist the occasional slipper or cushion if left unsupervised! She’s also working on her manners, like keeping all four paws on the ground when greeting people. Because of her enthusiasm and strength, Goldie would do best in a home without small children or unsteady adults. She can be a bit rough with other dogs and would benefit from either being the only pet or having a very carefully matched canine companion. Goldie is also a bit of an escape artist—she’s been known to test fences, dig, and even dash out an open door—so she’ll need a vigilant home committed to keeping her safe and secure. The good news? Goldie is healthy, up to date on care, and ready to find her forever family. Goldie’s ideal home: Adults or older, dog-savvy teens Secure yard and attentive supervision Someone patient and willing to continue her training A home ready for lots of cuddles and companionship If you’re looking for a loving, snuggly, and spirited companion, Goldie is ready to fill your home with joy (and maybe a little bit of mischief, too!). NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
Meet Walter   Walter is an adorable adult beagle mix with the kind of puppy dog eyes that will melt your heart in seconds. One look at that sweet face, and you’ll understand why everyone who meets him falls in love.   Walter has a gentle, loving personality and is simply looking for the best home ever—a place where he can relax, feel safe, and be part of the family. He’s the kind of dog who will happily be your loyal companion, whether you’re going for a walk, watching TV, or just enjoying a quiet moment together.   He’s past the puppy stage but still has plenty of love and life to give. Walter would do great with someone who appreciates a laid-back, affectionate dog who just wants to be by your side.   If you’ve been searching for a sweet, soulful companion with irresistible eyes and an even bigger heart, Walter might just be your perfect match  We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support. March 23, 2026, 3:47 pm

Story
Hi, I’m Lyla. I’m still very new to this big, unfamiliar world, and right now I’m feeling pretty shy and unsure of everything around me. I tend to stick close to what feels safe, and I’m still learning that people can be kind. I do find comfort in other dogs, and having a calm, confident canine friend could really help me come out of my shell. I’m looking for a quiet, patient home that will give me all the time I need to build trust and feel secure. I may be a little shut down at first, but with gentle love and understanding, I know I’ll start to blossom in my own time. 📍 My Location: Knoxville, TN Please note: Third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal. With some love, care, and understanding, I’m ready to discover my new favorite things and become the loyal companion I’m meant to be! 📍 My Location: Knoxville, TN Please note: Third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal. Story
🍞 Banana Bread – Sweet as Her Name Banana Bread is a 42 lb, 2-year-old female who is heartworm negative and looking for love. She’s a gentle, people-focused girl who would much rather hang out with her humans than roughhouse with other dogs. She’s currently in playgroup to build her confidence and has been doing great! Banana Bread previously lived with her buddy Carrot Cake and could fit well into a quiet home with another calm dog or as a devoted only pet.
