Daisy is a sweet and energetic 8-month-old female blue tick beagle. She is very smart, witty, and will try many ways to steal your heart and your lap. Daisy settled in quite easily in her foster home and while she had a few accidents in the beginning, with guidance, she quickly learned to ring her bells to alert that it’s time to go out.
Daisy would love a home where she would have another canine playmate to pal around with, play with, run with, or just snuggle with. She would do okay in a home where she is the only dog if she gets socialization with other dogs - maybe at a dog park, doggie daycare, or some other means. She loves being around other dogs. She has not been around cats but does have a high prey drive. She has been around children that were older than 10 years old and did well, although she gets very excited around children and is still in training to learn it’s not proper to jump on people.
Daisy loves toys and puzzles. She empties the three toy boxes daily and then will offer a whimper when there are no toys left that she hasn’t touched. She will chew up plushy toys quite quickly so foster mom has not given her any in quite a while. She loves shoes and slippers and will steal them at any chance she gets. She also loves having a soft blanket, pillow, dog bed, or a warm lap to curl up into. She will not jump into your lap unless she is asked but will stare you down until you pop the question.
Daisy is crate trained and house trained. She will sleep and eat in her crate, as well as curl up in it when left alone in the house. She may whimper for a short period of time once you leave, but she quickly settles in. Daisy loves to ride in the car and does okay on a leash; she is still very young and will pull if she sees another dog, something that she needs to check out that is not within reach, or gets onto a scent that she knows will finally get her face to face with Mr. Squirrel.
Much like most beagles, Daisy loves her food and treats, which has made it easier to work with her to try to teach her new things; she is currently doing well with learning how to sit and come. Daisy would do best in a home with a fenced yard, and single-family home since her bay is quite loud and she is a vocal girl. She loves to sing along with some of the commercials on TV as well.
Daisy is looking for a patient adopter who is willing to give her time to learn, grow, and develop. With time, training, daily walks, a lot of play time, and a lot of love, Daisy will be a wonderful dog and great addition to any family.

Remember that owning a puppy is a full-time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
