Story
Meet Fred Fred is a sweet 10-year-old male Beagle who recently lost his bonded sister Skye and is now searching for a forever home where he can heal and feel loved again. Fred was found wandering the streets. Just two days later, their family came forward and surrendered the pair. The family had taken them in after the dogs’ original owner passed away, but financial struggles led to severe neglect. When they arrived at the rescue, both were in rough shape: overgrown nails curled painfully into their paws, dirty ears, and advanced dental disease. Fred required a neuter and a full dental extraction—he lost 18 teeth. He also deals with arthritis in his shoulder and occasionally limps, so he’ll need to stay on joint supplements for comfort and mobility. Despite everything he’s been through, Fred remains a gentle, loving Beagle with a big heart. Now that he’s grieving the loss of his sister, Fred is looking for a quiet, patient home that understands senior dogs and is willing to provide the extra medical care and tender love he needs in his golden years. He would do best in a calm environment with someone who has time to help him adjust and feel secure again. Fred has already lost so much—please consider giving this sweet senior boy a soft place to land. If you have room in your heart and home for a gentle Beagle who just wants to be loved, Fred would be forever grateful. Adoption fee is 150 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc.. We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back. Disclaimer: The SNBRF has the right to deny applications based on our adoption policies established for the consideration of the health, safety, and well-being of the dog. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years. Therefore, beagles or any other breed who are under 3 years of age will NOT be adopted to anyone over the age of 62. For individuals who are 70 years of age and older, the dogs must be 8 years or older For more information or to submit an adoption application, please visit our website at http://www.southernnevadabeaglerescue.com . We are also on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/SouthernNevadaBeagleRescueFoundation . Come meet and play with our available dogs at Las Vegas area dog parks. Times and locations can be found at http://www.meetup.com/beagles-207/ . Contact us or check our Facebook updates ahead of time if you are interested in meeting a particular dog. All our dogs are in foster homes so not all are available to attend all our park meetups. Our meetup group playdates allow you to socialize your beagle with his/her own breed at dog parks with large fenced areas where the beagles can run and play off-leash.
