Story
McKinley found herself in a cold and frightening shelter environment, where her chances of being adopted were slim. The stress and fear caused her to decline rapidly. She began showing clear signs of fear and anxiety, and when staff attempted to handle her, she responded with fear-based aggression — something that is fairly common in highly stressed dogs. McKinley simply needed a chance to learn that people can be trusted. When we pulled her from the shelter, she was not immediately comfortable with us. She would not allow petting or handling and snapped when we tried. Through calm voices, patience, and a slow approach, she gradually began to relax. After about an hour, she allowed gentle petting for the first time. We believe McKinley is going to be just fine. She needs a patient family who will give her time and a gentle introduction to her new life. She also needs to lose some weight, and we will continue assessing her progress and update her bio as she settles in and gains confidence.    Adoption fee is $250 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc..                        We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back.      Disclaimer: The SNBRF has the right to deny applications based on our adoption policies established for the consideration of the health, safety, and well-being of the dog. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years. Therefore, beagles or any other breed who are under 3 years of age will NOT be adopted to anyone over the age of 62. For individuals who are 70 years of age and older, the dogs must be 8 years or older  For more information or to submit an adoption application, please visit our website at http://www.southernnevadabeaglerescue.com . Story
Meet Rook ï¸ Rook is a Ridglan laboratory research survivor whose first year of life left him understandably fearful of people and unsure of how to simply be a dog. But underneath that fear is the sweetest, playful little guy who so badly wants to trust, love and enjoy life. After four months with his foster family, Rook is making progress and showing more and more of that happy, joyful dog inside him — but his journey isn't finished. His forever family will need to understand that earning Rook's trust will take time, patience and commitment. He isn't a dog who will walk into a new home and immediately settle in as a typical family pet. Rook absolutely LOVES other dogs, large and small, and will need a confident, gentle yet playful canine companion who can continue to show him that the world is a safe and fun place. He is housetrained using a doggie door and will need a securely fenced yard where he can safely play and explore. He would do best in a calm household; if there are children in the home, they should be mature and respectful. Unfortunately, we cannot place this dog in a home with toddlers. Research dogs often startle easily and may struggle with the unpredictable movements and sounds of young children. Rook is still learning to trust people and isn't yet comfortable being approached for affection. We are still working on leash training. His adopter will need to give him the time he needs to progress at his own pace. For the right family willing to give him that time and security, Rook has so much potential. His adorable playfulness is already shining through, and we believe that as his confidence grows, so will the love he's been waiting his whole life to share. Most dogs experience some regression when transitioning to a permanent home. With research dogs, this adjustment period can be more pronounced. Please be prepared to offer extra patience and understanding as they settle in.   Adoption fee is $600 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. Story
Quincy is a beagle mix. He was pulled out of a shelter. We believe he is around 3 yrs of age. He does have some hair loss around his neck where he had on a too tight tick collar. He also seems to be underweight. We do have to get him neutered before he goes to his forever home. He is affectionate with people and appears to get along with dogs.    Adoption fee is $325 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. Story
Monroe was found as a stray and brought to a local kill shelter. We pulled her out when her hold was up. She was not spayed or had any vetting before coming into rescue. The shelter felt maybe she was 4 years old. She has a lot of young puppy behavior and could very well be younger.  She is an active playful affectionate little girl who would do better with a family that had the attention she needs and can give her an outlet for her energy and perhaps another playful dog. She gets along well with others.  Adoption fee is $325  which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. Story
Mocha is a fun-loving pup, estimated to be around seven months old, 26 lbs., who's ready to find her forever family! She can be a little shy at first, but give her a little time and you'll discover a playful cuddle bug who loves belly rubs, toys, and a good game of fetch. She gets along great with other dogs, especially the big ones, and is always looking for a playmate. Mocha is kennel trained and doing an amazing job with potty training. She uses the doggy door and is quickly learning that outside is the place to go! She does have a big bark when she wants attention from her people or dog friends—she's not afraid to make herself heard! We haven't tested her with cats or small children yet. If you're looking for a sweet, silly sidekick to grow up with, Mocha is ready to steal your heart!  Adoption Fee $300.00 https://www.forecloseduponpets.org/adopt/adoption-forms/dog-adoption-application

Story
George is a sweetheart and loves to play and go on walks. He was purchased from a reputable breeder and is pure bred with the option of CKC registration. It breaks our hearts to part with him but we are just too busy with our hectic schedules and cannot give him the attention he deserves. He is almost potty trained and very intelligent. He is great with kids and would warm up to other dogs but is a bit shy around other dogs at first.
