Story
Denim is a 3 yr male red beagle. He can be a little timid to start but he is happy and wagging his tail all the time. He sometimes holds back or is hand shy but when you call him, he comes and likes attention. He was overweight when he came in and what beagle doesn't love their food, but we have managed to get that weight off him and he looks good now.  He is easy going and mellow. Because of his timidness, another dog in the home will be a requirement for him. He does love to run and play with others. He loves people and enjoys going right up to them and always hopes for some good pets! He recently went in for an evaluation due to a cough. It was determined he had a heart murmur and is now on heart medicine. Heart meds are a lifetime commitment.  Adoption fee is $325 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc..    For more information or to submit an adoption application, please visit our website at http://www.southernnevadabeaglerescue.com . We are also on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/SouthernNevadaBeagleRescueFoundation . Come meet and play with our available dogs at Las Vegas area dog parks. Times and locations can be found at http://www.meetup.com/beagles-207/ . Contact us or check our Facebook updates ahead of time if you are interested in meeting a particular dog. All our dogs are in foster homes so not all are available to attend all our park meetups. Our meetup group playdates allow you to socialize your beagle with his/her own breed at dog parks with large fenced areas where the beagles can run and play off-leash. Story
Mayor Green is a great beagle. He is about 2 yrs of age. He is easy going and playful and active. He gets along with dogs and cats. He loves his food but what beagle doesn't? What Mayor Green really loves is tracking! He will require an interesting yard with lots of smells. He came to us through the South and was treated for some parasites. He has some scarring around his face and they believe that is from trauma. He was found running along a very busy rural highway. Mayor Green loves to play with others, cuddle and play with you as well. He sometimes steals things like a puppy would. He loves his toys as well. Story
Grinch came to us through our rescue partners in the South. He is a young guy at about one year of age. He is active and has many puppy tendencies as far as stealing things and getting into things. So he needs someone who will be patient and understands puppies. He can be timid/shy and get afraid with simple changes such as a person he sees daily but now they have a hat on, he freaks out like he does not know them. When this happens he will bark and run. So again, someone patient to work through this until he understands to trust and love. He does want the love and comes to you. He will do better with another dog as he does trust them and he comes up to people more easily when the other dogs do. He likes women more. He loves his doggy friends and will play with them or people. He is fine when left at home, as long as you have puppy proofed and put things away.  Adoption fee is $300 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc..          We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back. Disclaimer: The SNBRF has the right to deny applications based on our adoption policies established for the consideration of the health, safety, and well-being of the dog. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years therefore beagles under 3 years of age will not be adopted to anyone over the age of 62. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
This beautiful, timid gal is Rabbit. She takes a bit to warm up but once she does she is a snuggler. She does have anxiety so will need a doggie brother or sister and would prefer if her human was home more often than not. She will not crate well and has to have chew toys. She's 98% house trained and responds best to positive reinforcement. She is approximately 2 yrs of age. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Dolomite was originally purchased from a breeder but after one year's time, the family felt him and the brother caused too much damage and surrendered them. Dolomite is calm and easy going. More of a cough potato. He is overweight and does need a family dedicated to him getting that weight off. He is a nice boy that likes to cuddle up. We have not seen any type of destruction and he is pretty quiet too. He does get fearful of others and we feel he likely was not socialized. He does like to play with dogs once he gets to know them and gets past his fear. Story
Nio is approximately 3 yrs of age. He is a big boy, primarily Basset hound and 60 lbs. He loves to cuddle and loves his people. He does have some allergies and would need CADI injections every couple of months until allergies can be determined.  He gets along with other dogs, but dogs that are smaller or if bigger, we have found only females or disabled dogs. Otherwise, he shouldn't be with bigger dogs Adoption fee is $325 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue.
