Meet Norma Jean! This little cutie needs a foster or adopter asap. Norma Jean is a 1.5-year-old and only 28 pounds. She is housebroken and crate-trained. She looks like a Beagle/Corgi mix, but that is just a guess. She is playful and energetic and likes to chase a tennis ball anytime she can. She is playful and has energy, but if she gets some exercise, she is happy to chill out in the house while you’re working. Norma Jean is great with people of all ages, and she is very sweet. She is highly intelligent and incredibly loving. Her only challenge is that she is protective of her home and does not like it when strangers walk in the door. She has been receiving training to work on this issue and is responding very well, but whoever fosters or adopts her will need to continue this training. Because she is protective of the front door, a home with teenagers and older is best for her so the front door is not left open accidentally. She needs a foster or adopter who understands pack order and can establish themselves as the pack leader so she doesn’t feel like she has to step into the role and can just be a dog. She has shown no sign of resource guarding with people, but she doesn’t like other dogs trying to take her food and will grumble. It’s best to always feed dogs separately so they can eat at their own pace. She plays well with other dogs and likes to meet them slowly at first to make sure they are friendly. She will not start a fight with another dog, but she will stand up for herself if another dog is aggressive. For this reason, she does best with dogs that are happy, playful, and submissive, or that will just ignore her. She does great at the vet and loves meeting people outside. October 28, 2026, 10:30 pm

Bucky is around 3-4 years old and weighs a chunky 24lbs! His little legs just make him the most adorable little fella. His best mate is Amos, and he certainly makes Amos more comfortable with things as Amos is a little on the shy side. They do not have to be adopted together but it would be nice if they were. Amos is only 28lbs and around 18 months old, so they are a very unlikely couple! Both are good with other dogs, can be cat tested on request and are now getting fully vetted so they will be ready for forever homes in November!

This sweet 5-year-old Beagle mix received his name because he was given a second chance at life—and he has embraced it with his whole heart. Chance came from a hoarding/ animal abuse case where his owners were consequently arrest, arrested. Despite everything he's been through, Chance has never lost his love for people. His tail still wags, his eyes still light up when he sees you, and he still believes that his forever family is out there waiting for him. Chance is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. He loves attention, enjoys spending time with his people, and has a gentle, loving personality that makes it impossible not to fall in love with him. He is a little on the chubby side at 56lbs and loves to be a couch potato, though we have put him on an exercise regimen and a diet. Chance is currently heartworm positive, but that doesn't define who he is. He is receiving treatment and deserves the comfort of a loving home while he completes his journey to recovery. This beautiful purebred Beagle girl called Brittany is our pride and joy to offer to a Beagle loving family. Her story is sad and one that will make you sad and mad all rolled in to one roller coaster of emotions. A young newly wed couple were driving from their home in Chattanooga, on their way to a honeymoon in Nashville, TN. Out of the corner of their eye while driving, they saw a truck pulled over and pushing this girl out onto the side of the road and then drive away. They owned two dogs of their own and it broke their heart to see such meanness. She was in a desperate situation. They pulled over and took her in to their car and then started making calls to shelters and rescues in the Nashville area where they were destined to arrive in a few hours. They got Critter Cavalry on the phone and we stepped up to take her in immediately and we would make sure she had a future family who would never do such a horrible thing as to abandon her. What we have found out with Brittany is that she is a happy and inviting girl who loves to play with other dogs and who loves to spoken to with kindness. She craves love which we are sure she got little of before. Her fav game is to chase a ball. She is young as in probably a year or 2 at the oldest and she weighs 26 pounds. She is being spayed 10/23 and has already started her shots and worming. She is picture perfect if you want a Beagle or small dog that is not tiny but resilient and fun and loving. We know she loves couches and dog company for playtime and hanging out. She’s housebroken and will definitely need a fenced yard to keep that Beagle nose safely within sight of your back door.
