Story
ADOPTION PENDING! Hi. My name is Sadie Pickles and I need to find a person or family that will love me forever. I am a female beagle-mix. I am approx. 3 ½ yrs. old and weigh ~ 42 lbs. I was recently surrendered to Penny Angels Beagle Rescue because my previous owner said that I love attention and would do anything for it. During a petting session by my previous owner, I snapped at the other dog in the home when he tried to be a part of the ‘session’, and I also broke skin on my owner’s hand. I have also growled and snapped at the grandkids when I lived with them. I don’t know what happened to make me act that way. It would be best for me to find a home with an experienced dog owner with older children. Because of my history, no small or young kids (including grand-kids) should be left unsupervised around me. I have a lot of energy and would do well with someone who can give me one-on-one attention, though I am also an independent girl. I get along fine with the other dogs in Rescue but probably shouldn’t go to a home with another high energy dog. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to take me to training classes to see how you can better address potential issues that might arise. I am spayed and up-to-date with my vaccinations. I am using a doggie door in Rescue during the day and will need to learn new rules in your home. I am a sweet, playful, and loving girl. I am very smart and inquisitive, and I know some basic commands. I am a fast learner, too, and I love to please people. I walk well with a harness but would also be good in a home with a fenced-in yard. If you could take me for walks to work off some of my energy (or play with me inside or outside in the yard), that would be good for me. I am crate-trained and love my crate, though I haven’t needed to use it as much lately; I was given full run of the house in my previous home without problems. (My large crate, crate pads, and dog bed are included with my adoption.) I really hope that I can find someone willing to give me a second chance.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bella and Sasha, our amazing wonder pups, began their journey with us in April. One of our partner shelters was helping a high-kill shelter in their area by taking Bella and Sasha to find homes for them. Translation: 'Hey SAVE, can you please take these gorgeous girls?' Of course we said yes! Unfortunately, there was a mixup and the wrong puppy was brought to the vet for health certification. The mixup was not discovered until a few days after our volunteer brought them to us, when Sasha began showing symptoms of parvo and then tested positive. Sasha was rushed to Red Bank specialty vet, where a specialist gave her a new treatment for parvo. Shortly after, Bella began showing symptoms as well, so back to Red Bank our volunteers went. With long hours of round-the-clock care and love from our volunteers, along with the help (and expense, yikes!) from Red Bank Vet and Toms River Animal Hospital, both of these amazing gals pulled through with flying colors and have a clean bill of health! They started their journey together, but now are ready to begin new journeys with families of their own. They each deserve to experience a lifetime of love and adventures, one that almost didn't happen at all. Bella and Sasha are very sweet and super active, and they will need active families to match their energy! If you are interested in meeting Bella and/or Sasha, please complete an application at save.rescuegroups.org/forms/Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 15, 2024, 3:00 pm

Story
This handsome boys name is Doug! He is a very sweet and loyal dog that loves to play and go on walks. He may be a bit of an old man but he is quite active. His favorite toys are balls and loves to chase them. He is very good at adjusting to new schedules and very smart. He knows basic commands (sit, stay, down.) He seems to get very attached to one person and will love them unconditionally. He unfortunately has some separation anxiety, which we are still working on. He also does very well on walks and does not mind passing dogs and people. He gets along with other cats and dogs. He would do best in a family with older children and where someone is home most of the day to keep him company.
