Life there was harsh—food was scarce, danger was constant, and survival was never guaranteed. At some point, Belle suffered a broken hind leg that healed crooked, leaving a visible reminder of her struggles. But Belle never let her past slow her down. She walks, runs, and plays like any other dog, and the only thing she carries from her injury is her remarkable resilience. The leg doesn’t affect her daily life, though we keep an eye on it since the skin there is thin. What truly defines Belle is not her scar, but her sweet, gentle nature and her quiet determination to love and be loved. With her soft eyes and tender heart, Belle is ready for a forever home where she’ll be cherished for the survivor she is. Meet Beau! Beau is a loving, cuddly companion with a playful personality and an adventurous spirit. He enjoys exploring, playing, and spending time with his people, but he's just as happy curling up on the couch or in his own bed at the end of the day. Beau is fully potty trained and has excellent nighttime habits—he sleeps quietly in his bed and does not require a crate. Beau could do okay with children. He has a talent for spotting snacks from across the room! Because he loves food, he may help himself to treats from little hands if given the opportunity and is usually a little too rough. Beau thrives with clear boundaries and a confident owner who can continue reinforcing good manners. While he is house trained, he can be a bit enthusiastic and still needs reminders about household etiquette. He is also sensitive about being physically restrained and may react by nipping if someone grabs his collar unexpectedly. Beau has so much to offer to the right family!

🐾 MAX the beagle is a recent local surrender whose owner could no longer keep him through on fault of his own - he's 4 years old and we got him fully vetted at his new foster's. He's an energetic pup and gets along with the other dogs at his fosters and is a sweet and friendly boy with new people, too. We'll report back with more/better pics and more info as we get them from his foster. He surprised us when he weighed in at 32 lbs at his neuter appt. 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. 📌 IMPORTANT NOTES: ** Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. ** Also, we highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results. --> Lastly, breed guesses in rescue are just that (GUESSES!!) 99.9% of the time. We do not do DNA testing and our breed guesses are based on appearance and sometimes other traits, but we know the dog breed guessing game is a fool's errand even for those with LOTS of experience. 🗺 ADOPTION AREA: several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3 hours IS allowed, except that young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination to cross the border - usually around 16 weeks)

Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well.
