Story
Hazel is an almost year old female beagle looking for a loving home. Spayed, up to date on vaccines, wormer and prevention. Heartworm negative. She is the sweetest dog and very social. Loves all people and other dogs of all sizes. Also good with cats. She is energetic and needs an outlet/active home. Loves to go hiking, to the lake and has been on many 5k runs. E-collar trained for off leash recall. Walks good on a leash. Not a dog that will do well with a short walk or dog park every day, she loves to stay busy. House trained, crate trained, rides excellent in the car, loves to be in public. A very confident dog you can take anywhere. Would love to have another energetic dog buddy close to her size-she is very social. Happy to answer any questions and can drive to meet!

Story
Foster Location: New Jersey Thunder was found as a stray during a thunderstorm (hence the name) and got a second chance when he was adopted from a local shelter. Unfortunately, his nose- and instincts- have gotten him into trouble. Thunder discovered that chickens are delicious and very exciting to chase, and his current home couldn't keep him because of it. He's friendly with people, does well with other dogs, and has been around kids from toddler age up through pre-teen. Cats, birds, and poultry are an absolute no unless it's for lunch. Thunder is smart, playful, and loves a ball and chew toys. He's right around a year old and has been doing so great in foster. He's gone from being a primarily outdoor dog to a guy who loves to be inside taking a nap on your bed, your couch, your lap, or wherever happen to be. His foster told us last week that he's the best dog they have ever fostered and they have been fostering since 1989! Thunder is currently in foster in Green Brook, NJ and is adoptable anywhere in the country. helplesshounds.com/adoption-application

Story
Grandpa Douglas is an 8 year old hound mix with a gray muzzle and a smile he can't seem to turn off. Don't let the "Grandpa" fool you- he's bright, happy, and full of life. He loves car rides with his head out the window, a good long sniff through tall grass, and butt scratches above all else. He's very vocal about his gratitude and will happily tell you how he's feeling. He came off a euthanasia list at a rural Oklahoma shelter, where the staff fought hard to get this good old man placed before his time ran out. He made fast friends everywhere he went on his first day of freedom, including the crew at a Sonic drive-thru who sent him off with a bacon topped pup cup. Douglas is good with other dogs, friendly with strangers, and great with teens (he hasn't been tested with younger kids). He's crate trained and rides like a champ. He's currently heartworm positive and needs a Tulsa area foster or adopter to start treatment, but this sugar faced senior has waited long enough for his happy ending. helplesshounds.com/adoption-application

Story
Meet Mabel!! This pretty girl is about 2 years old. We believe she is a Beagle/Heeler mix of some kind. She currently weighs 37 pounds and is done growing. Mabel is a spunky, active girl!! She is searching for a family that can take her on lots of adventures and feel included in the day to day action!! She does have a decent amount of energy and play drive! She likes to keep her mind stimulated. She does good with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a playmate in her future home!! We aren’t sure what she thinks about cats. Mabel is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines and on heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Her adoption fee is $85.
