Story
Foster Location: New Jersey Thunder was found as a stray during a thunderstorm (hence the name) and got a second chance when he was adopted from a local shelter. Unfortunately, his nose- and instincts- have gotten him into trouble. Thunder discovered that chickens are delicious and very exciting to chase, and his current home couldn't keep him because of it. He's friendly with people, does well with other dogs, and has been around kids from toddler age up through pre-teen. Cats, birds, and poultry are an absolute no unless it's for lunch. Thunder is smart, playful, and loves a ball and chew toys. He's right around a year old and has been doing so great in foster. He's gone from being a primarily outdoor dog to a guy who loves to be inside taking a nap on your bed, your couch, your lap, or wherever happen to be. His foster told us last week that he's the best dog they have ever fostered and they have been fostering since 1989!

Story
Bill has spent his whole life with one family, and it shows. He's confident, friendly, and completely unbothered by the world- the kind of dog who walks into a new situation like he's been there before. He's good with other dogs, good with kids of all ages, and enthusiastic about pretty much everyone he meets. He's got the basics down- housetrained, crate trained, can be trusted home alone, and had obedience training as a puppy. He's not a project dog. He's just a good, solid Beagle who needs a new place to hang out. A heads up on two things: he has a voice and he's not shy about using it, which is a Beagle's birthright. He also has some ongoing skin sensitivities that have been managed easily with veterinary support- nothing dramatic, just something a future adopter should know going in so it doesn't come as a surprise. Bill is looking for a home with room to sniff, other dogs to pal around with, and people who are ready to be loved on aggressively and without warning. If that sounds like your house, we'd love to talk.

Story
Teddy is a gentle, soulful Beagle who arrived at the shelter with his brother (Jackson, a senior border collie mix) after their beloved owner sadly passed away. Through all the change and confusion, Teddy has remained incredibly sweet, affectionate, and trusting—he just wants a soft place to land and someone to love. Like many Beagles, Teddy follows his nose and appreciates a good snack… maybe a little too much. He’s currently packing some extra holiday weight, but with regular walks, portion control, and a family willing to help him slim down, he’s already on the path to a healthier life. He enjoys leisurely strolls, sniffing everything in sight, and then settling in for a nice nap. Teddy does well with other dogs (especially his brother) and would thrive in a home that understands the Beagle personality—curious, loyal, and very food-motivated. He’s not in a rush; he’s looking for a calm, patient family who will give him stability after losing the only home he’s ever known. If you’re looking for a loving companion with sad eyes, a wagging tail, and a whole lot of heart, Teddy might just be your perfect match. Story
Hi, I'm Jackson! I may not be the first one to run up and introduce myself, but give me a little time and you'll discover what a sweet guy I really am. New people and unfamiliar situations can make me a bit nervous at first, so I appreciate patience and understanding while I get comfortable. One thing that helps me feel confident is having other dogs around! I absolutely love having friends and would be thrilled to have a dog buddy to show me the ropes. Whether we're playing, exploring, or just hanging out together, I feel happiest with friends by my side. My location: NOWATA, OK *Please note that third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal. My correct and current location is the one listed directly above!* *Beagle Freedom Project facilitates out-of-state adoptions, provided the adopter is able to travel to the animal's current location for pickup.* If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an adoption application at https://bfp.org/adopt/ Please email the Beagle Freedom Project Team with questions at: adopt@bfp.org.
