Story
Meet Jax, a charming 3-year-old neutered male Beagle ready to find his forever home. Jax is a gentle and calm boy with a shy demeanor, who is gradually gaining confidence after being surrendered by his previous owner due to aging. This sweet Beagle enjoys affection and loves treats, making him a delightful companion for those willing to give him time and patience. Jax walks well on a leash, knows basic commands, and appears to be potty trained, showing he’s well-mannered and eager to please. His easy-going energy level means he would fit perfectly into a calm and understanding household where he can continue to build trust and feel secure. Ideal for a patient adopter who appreciates a quiet, loving dog, Jax is good with women and shows promising signs of being dog-friendly. Story
Teddy is a gentle, soulful Beagle who arrived at the shelter with his brother (Jackson, a senior border collie mix) after their beloved owner sadly passed away. Through all the change and confusion, Teddy has remained incredibly sweet, affectionate, and trusting—he just wants a soft place to land and someone to love. Like many Beagles, Teddy follows his nose and appreciates a good snack… maybe a little too much. He’s currently packing some extra holiday weight, but with regular walks, portion control, and a family willing to help him slim down, he’s already on the path to a healthier life. He enjoys leisurely strolls, sniffing everything in sight, and then settling in for a nice nap. Teddy does well with other dogs (especially his brother) and would thrive in a home that understands the Beagle personality—curious, loyal, and very food-motivated. He’s not in a rush; he’s looking for a calm, patient family who will give him stability after losing the only home he’s ever known. If you’re looking for a loving companion with sad eyes, a wagging tail, and a whole lot of heart, Teddy might just be your perfect match. If interested, go to our website www.humanecherokeecounty.org, click on adoption and fill out a form. A volunteer will contact you once they have recieved a completed application.

Story
Hi everyone! My name is George, and I’m a sweet beagle with a big heart and an even bigger love for making friends! I absolutely adore being around other dogs and would be so happy to have a furry friend to play and explore with. One of my favorite things to do is play ball - I could enjoy playtime all day long! I’m a friendly, affectionate boy who loves being around people and sharing lots of love and happy moments. I’m looking for a family who will give me plenty of playtime, cuddles, adventures, and, of course, lots of opportunities to show them just how sweet I am. I can’t wait to meet my forever family! 🏡 My Home’s Requirements: Another friendly dog in the home is required. I thrive with a canine companion by my side! 📍 My Location: INDIANAPOLIS, IN Please note: Third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal. My correct and current location is the one listed above! Beagle Freedom Project facilitates out-of-state adoptions, provided the adopter can travel to the animal’s current location for pickup. Story
Hi, I’m Flo! 💕 I’m a very sweet and gentle girl who is still learning about this big, new world around me. I’m a little shy and timid, so I may need some extra time and patience to feel comfortable, but once I do, I know I’ll blossom! One of my favorite things right now is being outside. I love having the freedom to explore, take in all the new sights and smells, and just enjoy being a dog. When I’m inside, I’m still figuring out how to relax and feel safe, so I may be a little unsure at first. I’m looking for a patient family who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let me go at my own pace. 🏡 My Home’s Requirements: Another friendly dog in the home is required. Story
Hi, I’m Bebe! I’ve spent my whole life outside, so this big new world is still something I’m learning about. But after so many years without a home to call my own, I’m ready for someone to give me a chance. I’m a sweet, gentle girl who also enjoys the company of other dogs. My friends at BFP are still getting to know me and discovering exactly what kind of home will help me shine, but I’m already hoping my next chapter includes a soft place to sleep, lots of love, and maybe even a furry friend or two. 📍 My Location: NOWATA, OK Please note: Third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal.
