Brutis is an older guy that has heartworms. With his age it is not recommended that he receive the injectable form of medication to treat him of heartworms. It has been recommended by our veterinarian that he stay on monthly prevention and treatment for the rest of his life. Heartworms can and often do shorten the life span of our pets, however, she is a very happy guy and would love a family of his very own for the time he does have left. Brutis will come with a 6-month supply of Heartworm medication (an additional 6 months may be purchased at time of adoption). It is recommended that he be seen by a veterinarian regularly to monitor for any progression of the Heartworms. Your regular veterinarian may choose to change the treatment plan.
