Melly is just a huge love bug. He adores cuddling in warm, cozy spots and wants all the affection you can give. He’s an old soul who thrives on close companionship. Melly is wonderful with children, but he needs a calm, peaceful household at this stage of life.He likes to stay within eyesight and will experience separation anxiety when left alone. Preferably someone who works from home and can take him everywhere, as he CANNOT be left alone due to his separation anxiety. Another dog in the home would likely keep him calm and give companionship for the potential of leaving him.He’s fully house- and crate-trained. Melly has a history of Lyme disease, so his joints occasionally bother him—especially during cold or rainy weather—but he manages well with love and proper care.Melly is gun shy and CANNOT be used as a hunting dog.PLEASE SERIOUS INQUIRES ONLY!

Milford   Milford is a handsome 3 year old terrier/hound mix weighing about 51 pounds, and while he’s safe now, his life before rescue was anything but normal. Coming from a local hoarding situation, he missed out on so many of the simple things every dog deserves — toys, treats, belly rubs, naps on the couch, and knowing what it feels like to truly belong to someone. Watching him slowly figure all of that out has been pretty incredible for all of us at the rescue   He’s still learning to trust new people and new situations, but once he lets you in, he loves you with his whole little heart and soul! He wants to be close to his person, whether that’s going for walks, hanging out in the yard, or just leaning into you for pets after a long day. You can tell he’s finally starting to understand that life can be safe, gentle, and full of love. He’s making great progress with leash walking, especially considering he wanted absolutely nothing to do with it when he first arrived. Crate training is coming along too, although he’d definitely rather be near his people than separated from them. Car rides are still a little scary unless you’re reassuring him the whole way and maybe holding his paw So far he appears dog friendly, and because he’s still adjusting to this whole new world, older respectful dog-savvy kids would probably be best for him. He needs someone patient enough to show him that the rest of his life is going to look a whole lot different than the first part did. Someone to give him toys, adventures, belly rubs, and unconditional love he’s gone without for far too long. Meet Sherman   Sherman is a 2 year old Min Pin/Beagle mix who we rescued from a local hoarding situation and is finally getting the chance to learn what a normal, happy dog life looks like. At 23 pounds, he’s equal parts goofy, active, and loving. He can be a little timid with new people at first due to his past lacking socialization, but give him some patience and he’ll become your little shadow. Once Sherman trusts you, he is ALL in. This guy is looking for an active home because he loves to run, play, and show off his zoomies! Potty training is going GREAT, leash walking is improving, and while he still has work to do on crate training, he’s learning how to relax and enjoy life now. We’re thinking older, respectful dog-savvy kids may be the best fit while he continues building his confidence. Sherman has come a long way already — now he just needs someone willing to give him the chance he’s never really had before and offer a patience and love to help his adjust to his happily ever after.
