Story
Say hello to Forrest. He is as sweet as him namesake. A teenage boy took him from a suspicious situation to make sure he got the life he deserved. Thanks to that boy, Forrest made his way to one of our volunteers who instantly said “yes” to fostering him. He walked with a limp that she knew needed to be checked out and she was right. Forrest suffered a pelvic fracture sometime in his short little life. But the vet said it was already healing and with rest and proper support he would continue to heal and do great without surgery. And he is doing great. We don’t know what happened to cause this injury. We just know that his life is going to be amazing from here on out. He is fostered with other dogs and cats and he loves everyone he meets. His foster mom may be spoiling him :) He is doing great with house and crate training and he is a fast runner and learner. He will be great for a fun active family. We are estimating he was born about the end of May so he is a typical puppy with typical puppy energy and habits. He weighs about 15 pounds and we are having to guess at his breed mix. We are thinking he will end up being a medium dog. He will complete his vetting and be ready to travel to his forever home by then end of Sept. His adoption fee is $399 and if he has to be transported from TN where he is currently fostered there will be an additional $200 fee. Story
Bailey has the face of a Beagle and the legs of a gazelle. He is trained to use a pet door and has been accident-free since arriving here. He's a sweet little boy that needs a family who will help boost his confidence. We think he's around 2 years old and he is healthy and ready to travel now. He seems to be afraid of men so a home with females or smaller quiet males would be best for him and another friendly dog would also help him feel more comfortable. If you're interested in welcoming Bailey or any of our Funny Farm friends into your home, please visit funnyfarmpets.org to learn more about our Tennessee-based rescue, the adoption process, the comprehensive vetting procedures these pets undergo before they come to your home, and to submit an adoption application. The adoption fee for this pet is $325, and an additional $200 is required for transport. Currently located in a foster home in Tennessee, this pet will be transported to a northern location after the adoption process is finalized. For details on meeting locations and the transport process, please visit the transport tab at funnyfarmpets.org

Story
Pete #25147; male; mixed breed; estimated age 2.5 years; approximate weight 40lbs. Little Pete is such a cutie. He was picked up off a county road by a volunteer and never claimed. Pete is neutered, up to date on all vetting, and heartworm negative. He has participated in the dog march and rode on the Christmas float. He is a great size dog – not too small and not too big! Pete plays with other dogs at the shelter but can be selective about his four-legged friends. He also can scale a chain link fence better than any monkey you’ve ever seen! He will need a home with a solid privacy fence if he is allowed outside alone at any time. With a little work he will be a good leash dog.

Nat Bug is a great girl who ended up at CCHS as no fault of her own or her owners. Due to health reasons, her owners sadly had to relocate and were not allowed pets. Nat Bug is housebroken and knows how to use a doggie door! She is pretty laid back and would do great in just about any home! Come meet this sweet girl today!

Story
Some stories break your heart. Hers proves how strong it can be. 💛🌈 Meet Baby Mama 30 pounds of sweetness, resilience, and quiet courage. She was found abandoned… left behind with just one surviving baby(Molly) by her side. While the world moved on, she stayed. She protected. She endured. She did what good mamas do, she loved the only way she knew how, even when everything around her fell apart. That baby survived because of her. Now it’s her turn. She’s about a year old, playful, gentle, and full of that soft, grateful kind of love you only see in dogs who have been through something, and still choose joy anyway. She doesn’t need sympathy. She needs stability. She doesn’t need another temporary stop. She needs a forever. A couch. A yard. A person who won’t disappear. No more being left behind. No more surviving on her own. No more wondering. If you’ve been thinking about adding a loyal, loving soul to your family, this is your sign. Baby Mama has already proven she’ll stay when things get hard. Now she deserves someone who will do the same. fill out an application today!
