Story
Meet Tripp and Forrest, 3 1/2-month-old mixes of Beagle and Lab! What sweet brother love they have for each other, other dogs, people, and cats! These boys weigh about forty. now and should mature to around 40 pounds. Both boys’ coats are medium length; Tripp’s is blond and white while Forrest’s colors are tan and white! These two sweeties love to play with toys and run around in the yard. They are learning to go for leash walks and should catch on rather quickly.  Adopt one of these sweet boys before you miss your chance on furever happiness! (ME, 5/7/23) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $375 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  May 28, 2023, 3:54 pm

Story
Dr. Seuss was a stray who was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. He traveled to his foster home in Virginia on Jan. 14, 2023. He is heartworm positive and will be treated at SSR's expense. He also needs to be neutered. See videos and photos of Dr. Seuss on this page showing his cute stature as well as his relationship with his foster sibling and with a cat. (For reference when viewing photos/videos, Dr. Seuss is 30 pounds, his foster German Shepherd foster sibling is 65 pounds.) "Is he cat-friendly?" Not sure, but you can check out the video of his cat test. *From Dr. Seuss's foster: When Dr. Seuss arrived to us in Virginia, he was taking medication for two infections which caused bloody discharge and frequent bathroom breaks (he had to wear diapers for about 10 days because of accidents in the house) but that is completely cleared up. He is house trained but while healing he needs to go out at least every 4-6 hours. Also, if he has to go, he will walk to the door and look at you so that you know he needs to go! He is great in the crate - quiet as a mouse. We are teaching him to take treats nicely (right now he likes to grab at the treat), and he likes to play with toys but if they are not strong toys they will be destroyed. Every now and then he likes to chew on socks, so we keep a few "chewable" socks lying around for he and his foster sibling, the resident GSD. Dr. Seuss is OK on the leash and likes to sniff around but he doesn't know "heel." Since he's only 30 pounds, he's very easy to "steer" and will go with wherever you lead him. He has an adorable pep in his step. He  doesn't bark, but true to the breed he has an amazing BAY! We have only heard him bay twice since we have had him - once when he first saw his German Shepherd foster sibling (but we wouldn't introduce them yet because he was still decompressing upon arrival), and once on a walk when he saw a poodle that we wouldn't let him meet. Dr. Seuss does like to greet other dogs on walks but he's fine when we steer him away as well. He'll allow us to touch him anywhere, even if he's eating or drinking. We can check him and open his mouth and dry him off after a rainy walk. Dr. Seuss loves attention and belly rubs and would probably do best with another dog who doesn't mind sharing or even as an only dog. He does fine with the resident GSD and even though he is half her size, he can boss her around by taking her food and water and toys and  bed. If he’s bored, he will look around for hairballs to eat so we try to keep him active. He likes to walk outside to burn off energy and also pitter patter around the house for about an hour then likes to nap. He really loves to sit quietly by his human for pets – that’s his favorite thing! Story
Spayed/Neutered: Yes Date of Birth: 06/03/2022 Weight: 25 lbs Polly is an incredibly sweet girl with a playful puppy spirit! Although she's young she's got a pretty laidback personality, and even when she has the zoomies, it's slow because she's not a very fast runner. She gets an A for effort and cuteness though! She likes to entertain herself with sticks when she's in our yard, and although we have introduced her to toys, she's not quite sure what to do with them yet. We can't wait for her to figure it out, she deserves to be spoiled! Polly didn't have an easy start to life. She was found as a stray by one of our shelter partners and no one claimed her. So we don't know if she ever had a home or if she was a stray her whole life. Despite this, she is the friendliest girl who just wants to give you kisses and be loved. Does Polly sound like the missing piece to your family puzzle? If so, fill out an adoption application on our website.

Story
Hi there, my name is Gibbs! I'm a sweet beagle boy with super-sized soulful eyes that are just begging for my new family to come and find me. I'm an energetic and outgoing guy and love meeting new people and dogs. I know a few basic commands like sit and down and am eager to learn more! Probably no big surprise that I'm a big fan of sniffing everything I can get my nose on - it's just so fascinating to learn about the world that way! In fact, I feel so happy to be out I do tend to pull a bit on the leash. I am fairly certain that regular walks with my new family and some patient, consistent training, along with some yummy treats, should help a lot with this. My friends here are already working with me to help me get ready to meet my perfect family! Got some pretty exciting news too! Recently, I met some furry friends of differing sizes at doggie social that I had really great introductions with. I was a bit keyed up to start, but quickly warmed up to another smaller dog who helped me feel more comfortable on our walk down the lane. Although we didn't play while in the yard, we did hang out, enjoying each other's company. It made me realize that I might also do well with a well-matched mentor dog in my new home who can show me the ropes! Although I love people, I may do best in a home with no kids or possibly older, respectful kids ages 12 and up. If you or your pack are looking for a fun-loving plus one to check out the neighborhood with - or possibly a few trails - look no further! Fill out an application (no obligation) and set up an appointment to meet me. Hope to see you soon! Love, Gibbs

Story
Are you a lady who lives alone or maybe it is just you and your dog who would love to have a sister dog?  Our girl Sister Sybil,  loves to play and buddy up with other dogs.  She also would make a great guard dog for a lady who may live alone.  Sybil is not a barker unless an unfamiliar person shows up at your door and she is ready to warn you.  She hides from children, not aggressive to them at all, just unsure of children, so she avoids and hides from them.  She is a sweet baby girl who loves to cuddle, give kisses, run after a ball and just be close to her person.  She is house trained but will need a fenced yard when let out to potty.   She doesn’t have recall to just come back in. Our sweet Sister Sybil might be shy at first but she is submissive being a beagle/bulldog breed with brindle leg stockings that are beautiful. She is one and a half year old weighing around 35 pounds. When she knows that you love her and she understands that you just want to be kind to her she will be all about you. She has a unique little underbite that gives her a special smile and She has gold splashes on her feet, legs and undercoat as though she was splashed with God’s special paint brush. Sister Sybil is a diamond with a wonderful soul and if you feel you have a home for her,  please do not hesitate to inquire with us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 28, 2023, 9:50 pm

Story
Meet our handsome Beagle boy named Jackson! This full of life young 2-year-old is 30 pounds and full of curiosity and the desire to investigate everything in the backyard with that Beagle nose of his. Jackson has blossomed into such a wonderful boy that loves people and adores playing with the other dogs. He thoroughly enjoys his foster mom's dogs and really needs another doggie playmate to help him stay busy and entertained in a fenced backyard. He will potty outside when taken outside, and he uses pee pads inside. He could easily transition to going only outside with praise and treats. He is a smart dog. Jackson wants to be with his people or another dog --- he doesn't want to be left totally alone.  He regularly comes up to us now for belly rubs and petting.  He is a sweet dog who is wonderful with our 23-month-old granddaughter.  He needs a fenced yard as most beagles will follow their noses anywhere. Jackson is the whole package: handsome, playful, affectionate. Could he be THE ONE for you?  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at  ccrnewengland@gmail.com  May 28, 2023, 9:50 pm

Story
Ricky Ricardo’s story is a sad one. You see this sweet 4yr old beagle mix was in a shelter he was adopted, but his person failed him. We are not sure exactly what happened after he left the shelter other than he was found 200 miles away from the adopter's home in a starved and skin and bones condition.  The “owner” claimed he ran away 2 weeks previously, but a dog does not end up with such weight loss in that short 2 weeks amount of time. The owner gave up Ricky to the rescue so we could work diligently in finding the perfect, most loving forever home for him. Things about Ricky:At his first vet appt he weighed only 22.5lbs! He has since gained weight in our custody and is now 28lbs.  Ricky is a spunky beagle mix and will require a 6ft fence as he can jump over anything shorter. *No underground fences* He Can Not go loose as he will get to tracking a scent and won’t come back! He loves car rides and is great with other dogs. He is NOT good with cats or small animals. He would be good in a home with children over 10yrs old. Ricky is crate trained, neutered and up to date with all vetting. He will bark to let you know he has to go out to potty and bark to let you know when he’s ready to come in. He’s a great little guy who is abundant with his snuggles and kisses.  If you would like to be Ricky's forever human companion,  please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 28, 2023, 9:50 pm

Story
Remember those Weeble Wobble toys that “wobble but don’t fall down”? That’s our Flynn, he weebles and wobbles and if he DOES fall down, he gets right back up again! This adorable 7-month-old Basset mix was born with a defect which sometimes makes his back legs a little wonky when he walks but he gets around just fine. He presently weighs between 20/25 lbs (40 lbs mature) and he runs, jumps and plays with resident foster pups. He’s a very friendly guy who loves everyone he meets- humans, dogs and cats- and he wears a happy smile all of the time. Flynn would be perfect for a family or an older couple who may need an easily managed pet.  (posted 4/8/23, RMc)  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $375 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip .
