Story
Bieber is a cute 3-1/2 year old male Beagle mix who was surrendered by his family on March 24, 2024. This little sweetheart has a white-and-tan short smooth coat, a short tail, and a precious Beagle face with beautiful dark brown eyes, a dark chocolate nose, a slender muzzle, and large floppy ears. His left ear is white with tan spots while his right ear is tan. His family told us that Bieber is good with children and also with other dogs. He has been kept indoors and will 'door dash' when he sees an opportunity. Bieber is frightened of riding in a car, being alone, and thunderstorms. Bieber was adopted from HSOV in 2021 but was returned because he was a little too energetic and because he had issues when his family attempted to take 'people food' away from him ..which we need to explain: Bieber shared his home with a special-needs child who (like his entire family) loved Bieber very much .. And that sweet child loved to share his food with Bieber which created a situation since Beiber did not want to give up his treasured people food once it was in his possession ... And the child couldn't understand why he shouldn't share his food with Bieber. So for the safety of everyone involved, his family made the heartbreaking decision to return him and let us find him another loving home. Bieber has an affectionate personality and loves attention. He was a pleasure to photograph on the afternoon of March 25th when HSOV Lead Canine Kennel Tech Jared Nash accompanied him for outdoor photos. Bieber looked to Jared for guidance and seemed to instinctively know that Jared was a 'genuine good guy' whom he trusted to give him the care and attention he wanted so badly. Bieber is a petite boy who weighs 20 lbs. Since Bieber has already been neutered, he could leave our shelter with his new family immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application.

We had an opportunity to take some indoor pictures of Bieber after he returned from his outdoor photo session, and he looked simply adorable while he relaxed in a plush doggie bed. It's tiring looking this cute for two sets of pictures (smile). Since Bieber has already been neutered, he could leave our shelter with his new family immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application.

Story
Bear Claw is an adorable 5-year old (perhaps a bit older) male Beagle who was brought to the HSOV on April 8, 2024 by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden who had picked him up on Smith Hill Road (off State route 26) in Lawrence Township, Washington County Ohio). Unfortunately, Bear Claw was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped. He was most likely following his nose when he wandered too far from home. Bear Claw has a two-tone brown (dark chocolate and carmel)-and-white short smooth coat, rather short legs, a long tail, and a beautiful tan-and-white Beagle face with pale brown eyes, a milk chocolate nose, and extra-large floppy ears which frame his face. This little man was a pleasure to photograph when HSOV Kennel Tech Madison Lee accompanied him for outdoor photos on April 9th. Bear Claw has a sweet, affectionate personality and loved the attention which Madison bestowed upon him (and vice-versa) (Smile) Bear Claw weighs 25 lbs. He walks fairly well on a leash, and he was also quite happy to be carried in Madison's arms when his photo session was over. Bear Claw was a social butterfly when he met visitors in the lobby, and he was a real gentleman as he let all of his admirers pet him and stroke his huge ears. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Bear Claw will be held for three days so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership.

Story
Lyric is a beautiful one-year old female Beagle/Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV on April 15, 2024 by Good Samaritans who found her on Silver Globe Road in the Marietta Ohio area and feared for her safety since she was in danger of being struck in traffic. Lyric was not wearing a collar, and she was not microchipped. This little sweetheart has a tan-and-white short smooth coat, a long tail with a white tip on the end, and an adorable symmetrically-marked face with soulful brown eyes that beg for kindness, a white stripe on her forehead, a black button nose, a dusting of white on her slender muzzle, and short floppy ears. Lyric has a sweet, rather demure, disposition and an affectionate personality. She was a bit timid when she first entered our shelter, but she wanted attention from everyone who was near her in the lobby of our shelter (the kind folks who brought her in as well as our kennel techs and photographer). Lyric is the kind of dog that you instinctively want to hold close and reassure her that she is in good hands with people who already love her. Lyric is a petite young lady who weighs 25 lbs. She has had a litter of puppies sometime in the past. These photos of Lyric were taken late in the afternoon of April 17th when HSOV Volunteer Jennie Sherrard accompanied her for outdoor glamour pictures in the green grass. Lyric loved attention from Jennie .. She was also very curious about other dogs being walked in the distance and seemed to want to make their acquaintance. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Lyric was held for three days so that her family would have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership .. But nobody called or came looking for her.
