Story
My first few weeks in foster care were very scary, and I was unfamiliar with absolutely everything. A strong breeze and a leaf blowing in the wind will startle me, or the sweeping of the floor with a broom is something I have not seen before. I have learned so much from having other dogs in the house to take my cues from, and I am learning how to be a dog with each passing day. My confidence in my surroundings and routine is growing, and I am blossoming into the sweet boy that I have always had within me. My current foster home has two resident dogs that are social and friendly and patient with me. I have a fenced backyard and can play indoors or outdoors at my own discretion. I am still learning to use the dog door. My foster mom is gone for 4-6hrs daily and I have a designated area in the bathroom where I am safe and secure until she gets home. I have the voices from the tv to keep me company along with a view of the other two dogs in the home. I sleep in bed with my foster mom along with the other two dogs, and with the help of my medication. I sleep deeply through the night and can keep myself occupied with toys in the bed if I wake up periodically. We are still working on potty training, and it has been a challenge, but I am relieving myself outside more than inside these days. I go outside every few hours with the other dogs, and I walk around the backyard with my foster mom, so I am starting to get into a potty routine. We need to work on walking on a leash, but we have many other things to work on at present, so that will be a goal in the coming weeks. I am a HIGH flight risk, so there needs to be a concerted effort and PLAN to keep me from escaping, along with having a securely fenced backyard. Baby gates throughout the house will be required in areas where there could possibly be a weak area of security. Garage doors will need to be closed before moving from garage to house. I will require a home that is on the quiet side without a lot of chaos or change of routine from day to day. I need to settle in to a regular routine without a lot of day to day surprises. I will require a friendly and well socialized canine companion in the home to help regulate my nervous system, and one that I can observe and learn from on how to ‘dog’. A home with older, respectful children would be wonderful, providing that they have a gentle hand and demeanor - and are committed to keeping me safe and secure in the house. No thoughtless open gates or front doors without considering where I am in the house. Due to my unique background, we are looking for a very special home that will have the patience and time to work with me and my fearful behaviors. I am friendly and affectionate and will make a wonderful family member, I promise. Could that family be you? Please reach out to UU to find out more about me or ask any questions. I look forward to meeting you soon! All my love, MILO

Story
Elliott is a gentle soul. He loves snacks, tug toys, and chin scratches. Elliott is working through some anxiety about being outside and in unfamiliar spaces. He needs a family that is equally gentle and willing to move at his pace. Elliott is intelligent, curious, and playful at heart, and enjoys partaking in puppy antics (especially with his foster brothers) in spaces where he feels comfortable. Elliott would do best with another calm and confident dog in the home to help him blossom. His family will need to continue potty, crate, and leash training using positive reinforcement. Elliott gets along with other dogs with appropriate introductions, and has not yet met kids or cats. Elliott is approximately 1.5 years old and 30lbs. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly preventatives. Please note: Our beagles are former lab dogs. Before you apply, make sure you do your research and understand what that will mean when bringing them home (we're going to ask!). These dogs will need time, patience, and positive reinforcement while they learn to exist in our world.

Story
Meet Scotty: the littlest beag with the biggest personality! He moves fast, plays rough, airs his grievances loudly, takes treats enthusiastically, and snuggles like it’s his full time job. Scotty’s favorite activities include chasing his foster siblings around the yard, lounging in the sun, bursting into the bounciest zoomies you’ll ever see, and curling up under a blanket after a long day of being adorable. He loves neck scratches, chew toys (current favorites include Benebones and puppy teething rings), and cozy corners to nap in. Scotty’s family will need to continue his potty, leash, and crate training. He would do best in a home without small children, as loud noises and quick action make him nervous. Scotty is approximately one year old, weighs about 20lb, is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly prevention. He is good with other dogs with appropriate introductions, and has not yet met any cats or children. Please note: Our beagles are former lab dogs. Before you apply, make sure you do your research and understand what that will mean when bringing them home (we're going to ask!). These dogs will need time, patience, and positive reinforcement while they learn to exist in our world.

Story
Alfie is a project. He is by far the most shut down and anxious out of all his foster siblings. He is looking for a VERY special family that is willing to put in the time and patience to ensure he learns that the world isn't scary at his own pace. Alfie is about 1.5 years old and weighs about 25lb. His family will need to be prepared to continue work on potty, leash, and crate training using positive reinforcement. Alfie gets along with other dogs with proper introductions, and hasn't yet met kids or cats. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and on monthly preventatives. Alfie's family must have a fully fenced, secure yard as he is a flight risk. They must also have at least one confident dog that can continue to show him the ropes. Kids must be over 12 and respectful. Loud noises and sudden movements spook him. Finally, his family must have experience with dogs like Alfie and be ready to discuss what his continued rehabilitation looks like. Please note: Our beagles are former lab dogs. Before you apply, make sure you do your research and understand what that will mean when bringing them home (we're going to ask!). These dogs will need time, patience, and positive reinforcement while they learn to exist in our world.

Story
Looking for a new bandmate? Meet Owen! Owen loves snacks, chin scratches, and playing fetch… with himself! He will show you all of his puppy antics, and then melt your heart with his soulful eyes and polite requests for snuggles. This beagle loves to shred - toys, beds, pee pads, dirt piles, etc. - and has impressive vocal range and stamina. Owen absolutely adores toys, but doesn’t like to share them just yet, so he should be supervised around high-value items and during playtime, like all new dogs. So far, he enjoys using his crate as a safe space to relax in. Owen’s family will need to continue his potty and leash training, and use positive reinforcement to keep building his confidence. Owen is approximately one year old, weighs about 25lb, is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly prevention. He is good with other dogs with appropriate introductions, and has not yet met any cats or children. Please note: Our beagles are former lab dogs.
