Story
Cheto is an adopted dog, we picked him up on the street in 2017, he was about 2 years old, now he is about 8 years old, he has all his vaccinations and is neutered. Cheto comes from Mexico, we are a family that recently moved to the US, however everything has changed for us, the puppies used to live in the patio or garden of our house, but here with the weather we have had to change certain things, now they live indoors, we feel that as a family we are not giving them the attention they deserve, we have a 3-year-old daughter and one on the way, having pets has complicated our family routine and we do not have family support to help us with some activities So, after thinking about it a lot, we decided that it is best for them to be with a family that can give them much more attention and affection than they deserve. P.S.Cheto is great with kids and he loves to play outside.

Story
Hi, My name is Tramp! I am a 4-year-old Beagle. My foster parents say I have a wiggly butt because I’m always so happy. I have a gentle, sweet soul & am open-hearted with anyone I meet. I may be 4 but I have the energy of a pup younger than that! I love going on walks, I’m still working on not pulling on a leash. I also love being close to my foster parents & giving/receiving hugs & kisses. I am mostly potty trained, no messes in my foster mom’s house, & I tolerate being in the crate but definitely get lonely. I love other dogs & would do best in a house with another furry brother or sister. I met cats before I came to Wisconsin & my foster parents were told I did just fine with them. I haven't met any small humans before. I get the zoomies & sometimes jump on humans, which I am working on, so I would probably do better with older children. I can’t wait to meet my forever family & get to give all my love them!DATCP# 483538

Duke is a pure breed beagle. We got him 2 years ago and has been a great friend to our other dog. They play constantly. Unfortunately, we are very busy and cannot exercise him like he needs. He does not howl often which is a plus. Crate trained very well.

Story
NOTE - Michigan transport pick up is Chicago. Meet Bernie!! This poor soul was dumped on the doorstep of a local vet in Memphis, Tn. Thank goodness he stayed around cold and alone on the doorstep until someone showed up for work. His first people in life failed him and we are ready to find him someone that won’t ever let him down again. This guy is 2 to 3 years old and is super sweet. He is scared right now in his environment and we are trying to get him in a foster home asap. If you would like to be his hero he will never make you regret it. This guy is going to make someone the best walking buddy and just an all around great companion for company. He is great with people and other dogs. Once adopted Bernie will travel via private transport (transport cost is $150.00 each) to a location closest to you. If you would like to make this sweet boy part of your family please follow the link below to our application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
Tobey is a 7 month old pure breed beagle that has a lot of energy and love to give. He has been great with our kids and all the neighborhood dogs. He loves being outside and hiking. Commands he has learned: sit, stay, gentle, shake, come, and lay down. He is also crate trained. We are in the middle of teaching him heel (not tugging during walks). He is very motivated by treats. We are rehoming him because he needs more room to exercise and get energy out, and we aren’t able to do that at our current renting situation. FYI: the redness in his eye is called cherry eye. It’s very common with hound breeds and doesn’t bother him at all. Vet says can be fixed if we want. Price includes crate, food, toys, and treats. Will also include all paperwork and vet history.

About this Dog: Name: Guppy, Puffer Fish, Anchovy Breed: Beagles Approximate Age:  9 weeks Gender: Male   Weight:  around 10 lb Adoption Fee:  $550 each Why in Rescue:  Breeder surrender Scroll down to learn more! Please fill out the adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog if you are interested in meeting one of our dogs.  If clicking on the link doesn't work, just copy/paste into a browser to get to the application.  Guppy, Puffer Fish and Anchovy were surrendered by their breeder/farmer when they didn't find homes when they were 6-8 weeks old.  They are now neutered, microchipped, started on deworming, vaccinations, and heartworm preventative and ready to go to new homes.  If interested please fill out a pre-adoption application and we will select families to meet the group of puppies.  They are friendly, happy puppies who love to play.  They will need to be housetrained, and learn things all pups need to be taught like walking on a leash and what not to chew on! We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.     The adoption procedures are listed below.  Priority is given to potential adopters who fill out the application on our website.  If a listing is on the adoption websites, we are still accepting applications.  The listing is removed once we have received a sufficient number of applications or the pet leaves the shelter.   Adoption Procedures: 1.  Completely fill out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog.  Any missing information may have us moving onto another application. 2.  If you application is approved, we will contact you to come meet the adoptables that you are interested in.   3.  If it is a match, you will complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.  Please be prepared to take your adopted pet home when you come meet him/her.  In most cases, you will be able to take the pet home the same day.   4.  If you have filled out an application and we haven't contacted you within a week, we may have missed your application, the pet may have been adopted by another applicant, or you may have been missing information on your application.  You may contact us to find out the status of your application at this time.  Please give us a week to process your application before contacting us!   The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $200 - $550 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc All dogs are seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  Bichon and Little Buddies is run by volunteers who have full time jobs in addition to the hours they spend with the rescue dogs.  Having an application on file assures us that the potential adopter is really interested in adopting a dog.  It also assists us in placing dogs in homes where both the dog and new owners are happy.  The application puts you under no obligation to adopt a dog from Bichon and Little Buddies. The Dog Pre-Adoption Application can be found at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog Thanks for thinking about adopting your new pet!More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $75 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS June 10, 2023, 12:40 pm
