Story
Waiting for fur-ever home for 1 year Hi there, my name is Octavia, a spayed female, 2 year old, Rottweiler/Staffie mix that currently weighs about 80lbs. I'm an affectionate young lady that loves to love. I love belly rubs and going on walks! I'm an excellent kisser and cuddler too! I do my very best not to jump up on people to say hello but sometimes I forget then I remember again, and it ends up being more of a bunny hop. I'm a really smart girl that already knows 'watch me', 'sit', 'down' and of course the best game known to dog kind... Fetch! I really love being around people, I have been called a lovebug, and would be a wonderful constant companion for anyone looking for an affectionate but very energetic new friend. Let's go on adventurous hikes and explore the great, wide world together! I sometimes get overwhelmed since I'm still getting used new things, but with your gentle guidance, I can overcome anything! I can't wait to meet the whole household including any resident dogs before going home. For more information, just ask Customer Service about Octavia ID# A953428 I recently went on a fieldtrip with one of my PHS Volunteer friends! Here's how I did: I took Octavia on an offsite adventure today! I picked her up in the morning and she greeted me with one of her signature bear hugs. Octavia happily got into my car and was calm in the back seat the whole way to my house. We started the adventure by taking a walk in the neighborhood. Octavia is very easy to walk - loose leash the entire way. Once done with our walk, I brought her to my house. She was excited to be in the house and started checking the place out. She happily greeted my husband - this was their first meeting. Then she headed for the outdoors where she thoroughly enjoyed her signature slide on the grass move. She enjoyed coming in and out during our outing and took herself to the backyard to take care of her business. We also ate lunch in front of Octavia and she was polite the entire time. Of course she tried to melt us with her beautiful puppy eyes, but she did not beg for food. During our entire outing, Octavia was very mindful of her manners - she came when called, sat when asked and gave us lots of affection. She thinks she is a lap dog and literally sat on my lap for affection. We ended the day with another walk. We passed barking dogs, an off leash dog, and a gardener with a blower, all with no fuss of any kind from our girl. She is a sweet and lovable girl! I uploaded videos and pics of our day.Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.
