Story
Meet Jerry – Our Longest Resident Still Waiting for His Forever Family
Jerry is a 16-month-old, 55-pound Shepherd mix with the heart of a hero and the soul of a best friend. He’s been overlooked for far too long, and we know his perfect match is out there.
Why consider Jerry?
• Dog-friendly
• Great with kids and adults
• Currently fostered in a home with other dogs and children
• Potty trained
• Crate training in progress
• Excellent on leash
• Smart, eager to please, and very trainable
• Comes with four free professional training sessions
• Not suited for homes with cats
Jerry is an affectionate, social, and silly pup who loves people and playtime but also knows how to settle down and relax. Whether you’re headed out for a hike, a jog, or a drive to the kids’ soccer game—Jerry’s your guy. He loves car rides, outdoor activities, and tagging along to family events. He would likely do great at dog parks and would thrive with an active family that includes him in their adventures.
Jerry lives on a clean, rigid prescription diet due to a recent IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) diagnosis—but don’t let that deter you. His foster family has found it easy to manage, and Jerry is thriving. Outside of that, he’s a healthy, happy young dog who has already overcome a great deal, including two surgeries.
He would do best with a home experienced with working breeds—someone who understands the value of structure and consistency. With the right support, Jerry could also make an incredible Emotional Support Animal (ESA). He’s sensitive, deeply bonded to his people, and eager to connect.
Jerry has waited long enough. He’s truly a gem of a dog, ready to be someone’s adventure buddy, jogging partner, or couch movie companion.
