Story
Meet Molly, a one year old Shepherd/Husky mix weighing 50 pounds.Molly is a gentle sweetheart looking for a family ready to show her just how wonderful life can be. She came to us as a stray alongside Mia, and it’s clear that much of the world is still very new to her. New places, new experiences, and even simple everyday things seem to be things she’s still figuring out. While Molly can be a little unsure at times, she is slightly more outgoing and a bit quicker to investigate the world around her. She appears to have had very little experience with things like walking on a leash, so it can still feel a little scary and unfamiliar, but she is trying her best and has an eager-to-please personality that will help her go far.Molly could use some TLC and a family that understands the value of patience and gentle guidance. She has a sweet, soft nature and seems ready to soak up all the love and reassurance she can get. With time and encouragement, we think Molly is going to gain confidence and continue coming out of her shell. She’s a kind girl with a lot of potential, just waiting for someone to help her discover how exciting and safe the world can be.This pet is available for adoption on 5/21/2026 2:59 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Itzly, a five-year-old Doberman mix.She was owner surrendered simply because her previous family could not dedicate enough time to her, and she’s now hoping for a fresh start with someone who will truly appreciate her gentle, people-oriented nature.Itzly is a petite girl for her breed mix, making her an especially charming and manageable companion. She already knows basic commands like “sit” and “paw,” and she’s highly treat-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. She walks well on leash and enjoys getting out for strolls, where she can take in the world at a relaxed, easygoing pace.True to her affectionate personality, Itzly absolutely loves snuggles and being close to her people. She has lived in a home with both kids and cats and did well, showing a social and adaptable side when properly introduced and supervised. She enjoys companionship and will likely bond closely with her family. She does have a tendency to chase cats so a home without cats would be best or a home with cats that will stand their ground while you work with her. She was potty trained in a home environment, but we always encourage people to take dogs out frequently until a routine is established. She has been around kids and done well as well. As a Doberman mix, Itzly reflects many of the traits the breed is known for — loyalty, intelligence, and a strong attachment to their humans. Doberman Pinscher dogs are also typically energetic and people-focused, thriving when they are included in daily life and given both mental and physical engagement. While Dobermans are often alert and protective by nature, they are also deeply affectionate “velcro dogs” who want to be near their people as much as possible.Itzly is playful, loving, and ready to become someone’s constant companion. She’ll do best in a home that can continue her basic training, keep her engaged, and most importantly, give her the time and affection she’s been missing. This pet is available for adoption on 5.8.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Bow, a one-and-a-half-year-old Rottie mix weighing 75 pounds.Bow`s story is heartbreaking, but she hasn`t let it define her.She came to animal control after being surrendered from a home where she had gone seven days without food. Investigators also found deceased dogs on the property, making it clear that Bow had endured severe neglect. Despite everything she`s been through, she continues to greet the world—and every person she meets—with an open heart.Bow absolutely loves people and seems to believe everyone is her new best friend. She`s friendly, energetic, and always ready for her next adventure. Food is definitely the way to her heart, making her highly motivated and eager to learn. It`s obvious she hasn`t had much training or guidance in her life, and so many everyday experiences are still brand new to her. But she`s curious, willing, and excited to discover what life has to offer.Bow is looking for a family that will show her the love, patience, and stability she`s always deserved. In return, you`ll gain a loyal companion whose joyful spirit is a testament to her incredible resilience. After everything she`s survived, it`s finally Bow`s turn to know what it feels like to be cherished. Could you be the one to give her the happy ending she`s been waiting for? This pet is available for adoption on 6.26.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
