Story
Gale is a 2-year-old, 4-pound Toy Poodle who embodies the phrase “small but mighty charming.” With his refined manners, soulful eyes, and quiet sweetness, Gale is the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention: he simply steals your heart before you realize it’s gone.
Like many thoughtful gentlemen, Gale is a bit shy when first introduced, especially in new situations. Once he knows he’s safe and loved, his true personality shines: affectionate, gentle, and deeply devoted. His favorite place in the world is on your lap, soaking up cuddles, though he is never pushy and remains polite even when other dogs are around.
Gale does best in a calm, peaceful home and prefers the quiet life. Loud noises can be unsettling for him, so he is looking for an adopter who appreciates a slower pace filled with good food, cozy naps, and quality time together. He is not a frequent barker, but if other dogs start barking, he may choose to join in.
He gets along well with other small dogs and has done well with cats. Larger dogs, particularly those over about 15 pounds, can be intimidating for him, so he would be happiest in a home with similarly sized companions or as the only dog. Gale is also comfortable with older, calm children who understand how to be gentle with such a tiny dog. No small children, please.
Gale is still working on house training and leash skills and will need a patient, kind adopter who understands that confidence and learning take time and consistency. A secure, fenced yard is required to help him feel safe as he continues to build confidence. He is not crated in his foster home, is not destructive, and sleeps contentedly in his own bed in his foster parent’s bedroom at night.
His favorite things include food, kind people, and long naps, and he thrives on gentle affection and feeling secure.
