Look no ‘moe’!
Moe is an 8-month-old cockapoo who can’t wait to be your shadow! A silly, affectionate, and playful puppy, he loves playing with his toys, cuddling with his foster mama, and going for walks to sniff around the neighborhood. Moe has been friendly with other dogs he’s met on walks, and enjoys playing with his foster sister. He would thrive as a companion to a young, playful dog, or as a cherished only pup. Because he has done so well with his leash training, he does NOT require a fenced-in backyard.
Although initially a bit skittish and unsure, he has made fast progress while in his foster home and his foster mom refers to him as her ‘shadow.’ He is working on his crate training, and will sleep all night quietly in his crate, as long as it is next to his mom’s side of the bed. During the day he is usually quiet in his crate, but will sometimes complain a bit. His adoptive family should be committed to continuing his crate training, or be able to provide him with a puppy-proofed room where he can be left alone.
Moe enjoys playing with the children in his foster home, but he has a clear preference for his mom, he is a ‘Velcro’ dog. Any children in the home should be old enough to understand that he can still be a little skittish, and be patient with him as he adjusts in the transition to his adoptive home. He is only 11 pounds, so children will also need to keep his small size in mind when playing.
As a young puppy, Moe will need continued training to grow into a confident, obedient adult. He currently knows ‘touch’ and ‘come,’ and is working on ‘sit.’ He is doing very well with his house training, and is kept on a schedule at his foster home, since he does not yet know how to ’ask’ to go out. He is a puppy, and some regression would be expected when he transitions to his forever home.
Moe is being fostered in Wyomissing, Pa. Potential adopters will need to be willing to travel to this area for a meet and greet. All residential dogs will also need to come to this meet.
