Meet Carter – Your Next Great Adventure Awaits!
If you're looking for a fun-loving, energetic companion who's always up for an outing, Carter is your guy! This social pup is a true otrovert—he loves meeting people and new dogs, especially those who can keep up with his playful spirit, but also is down to stay in with his inner circle.
Whether it’s hopping in the car for a hike, splashing in a river, or playing an enthusiastic game of fetch, Carter is happiest when he’s out exploring the world by your side. He’s especially fond of dog friends his size or bigger who enjoy a good chase or some friendly roughhousing.
Carter is house-trained, knows his basic manners, and is eager to keep learning. His doggy manners are so good that he helps teach the youngins how to play! Now he just needs a forever family to help him continue to thrive.
What’s Carter’s dream? A home with a big yard, lots of love, and someone ready to share life’s adventures. If you’re looking for a loyal hiking buddy and a joyful presence in your life, Carter can’t wait to meet you!

Carter is an All-Star dog! His adoption comes with some extra benefits at time of adoption. Their adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and they will go home with their very own no-pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get them off to a good start! To schedule an appointment to meet Carter, email info@ahconnects.org (please include your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to help you!
Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
Ask fosters@ahconnects.org about fostering Carter, while he waits for his forever home!
