Donner is looking to get a forever home, one that will be dedicated to raising and training a puppy . Donner is just 16 weeks old, a Belgian Malinois mix, he’s got pep, sass, sharp puppy teeth going through teething… he may be a bit to handle until he gets time to decompress from shelter environment but he’s also a sweetheart that wants to give kisses and cuddle. Yes, shelters are even tough on puppies. They should be getting lots of sleep and socialization at this age and when both are hard to come by… it shows. Give him time to rest, relax, get him lots of high quality chew toys and he’s a wonderful puppy. Start gradually training, rewarding and providing socialization now for a well manner adult dog. Hitchcock Road Animal Services is the shelter for Monterey County & Salinas. We serve a large area and finding great homes for the animals that come into our care is our priority. We do adoptions first come first serve so we recommend coming at the start of adoptions if you are serious about a specific pet. If you are planning to adopt a dog and already own a dog(s), please bring with you and our trained staff will facilitate dog to dog meet and greet.
