Her favorite place is snuggled up on the bed or couch, soaking in all the warmth and love she can get. She takes daily eye drops and antihistamines for life, and she’s also on joint supplements to keep her feeling her best. She previously had a low-grade mast cell tumor removed, and her current medications help reduce the likelihood of recurrence.Kimber is sweet, affectionate, and thrives in a quiet, predictable environment. She’ll do best in a calm, adult-only home where she can enjoy soft beds, gentle strolls, and plenty of cuddles.Kimber recently spent time in a foster home where she was deeply loved, and she is now back at the shelter and ready to be seen. I’m Chispa — a 9-year-old Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix with plenty of spark still left in me! 🔥 Don’t let my age fool you — I love to stay active and have energy to spare when it’s time for a walk, play session, or a good game of fetch. I’m also friendly and affectionate once I get to know you, and I’ve still got that playful, happy-go-lucky attitude that keeps life interesting.I came to the shelter after my owner’s health declined, and while I’ve lived peacefully with another dog and a cat before, I haven’t loved meeting cats here — so I might be hit or miss in that department. I’d do best with respectful dog friends and humans who understand my boundaries.Speaking of which — I can be a bit protective of my food and toys, so I’d prefer a home with kids 12 and up who understand that I like my space when I’m eating or playing with something special. I’m also not a fan of being restrained (the vet usually needs to give me a little something to help me relax during exams), so gentle handling and patience are key.The good news? Sultan was on death row and would of been put down today if we didn't take him in. He's a 7 year old Belgian malinois and very friendly to people but dog selective. He is also very independent and loves the environment we provide where he has a couple acres to roam freely. He doesn’t leash pull and knows some basic commands. Sultan also does well in car rides. He is up for adoption but we will be very careful and selective of who adopts him. He will not be adopted by anyone with other dogs or animals.
